The Product works well. UT there are a couple of issues with it, 1. The coating (a soft plastic) on the Alligator clips is way too susceptible to heat damage, it's the WRONG plastic to use as it either melts or catches alight with a soldering irons tip heat, 2. The mounting method is OK but if you are mounting it this way the manufacturer needs to add an additional nut so that the Alligator clips can be aligned in a suitable angle for the piece being worked on. Currently you have to add considerable stress to the flexible wrapping in order to FORCE the clips into a suitable alignment.

Bought these on a Saturday evening and had them the following Monday morning, along with a soldering iron I purchased.I drilled a hole into my existing iron stand for each hand, it comes with the bolts and the base for the head of the bolt to secure to.I'm especially glad I bought these because the new iron isn't long enough to expose the tip through the stand, which isn't a problem with these hands anyway.I've included a picture showing the hands on my iron stand (no iron), holding a paint brush.Definitely recommend.

First let me clarify the specification:- The diameter of the arms is about 7 mm (as typical uPhone).- There is an crimp on the aligator clips with M4 screw.- For the base, one rubber feet is provided with an M5 or 10/32 screw (one of those, not 100% sure).These arms are good for jewellery or small things, and also lightweight. I've try to attach a uScope but the arms are too flexibles and I found them a bit weak. I also find the aligator clips a bit too small. That being said for the price this is hard to do better and the quality is correct. However, If you are like me and you would like something more rigid, that you can use for different purposes, and with bigger aligators clips, you should DIY with arms used for lights as example. I have 12 mm here and this is really too rigid..... try to find something between 8 and 10mm and maybe insert some metal wires inside to make them more rigid.

These arms are pretty solid, I did a small platform in 5 minutes to put these arms to work, they even provide some little rubber feet has well, that I didn't notice when I did the purchase. I would recommend this product.

Excellent product. Excellent company. A problem unrelated to the quality of the product happened, and it was quickly solved.I have ordered several of this company's "helping hands" products, but wanted a couple of extra arms to have for other little projects.These are very flexible and sturdy. They are exactly what you need to hold something still so you can solder, paint, or examine.I highly recommend!
