Shallower than I thought they would be

We had a strainer and it finally fell apart. It was an 8" strainer and I wasn't sure about this little 6" as its replacement, but I ordered and gave it a go.This little one seemed to be of much higher quality than my old one and the handle and connection were much better constructed.It was a nice size for scooping grapes and cherries from soaking, draining hamburger grease from the edge of pans, holding pasta back while I tipped out water and rinsing basil leaves. It worked very well for all of these things and fit very nicely back into the top of my small saucepans for storage.I'm pleased with this new smaller and improved strainer and I'm sure it will get much more use than the above it already has!DISCLAIMER: I received this product for free or at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion. This is what I would call a piece of junk. It was poorly made, with loose wire strands poking out in several places, and the metal rim holding the wire to the round circle was flimsy and badly unevenly attached. In addition, it was barely an inch in depth and would have been better described as a skimmer, not a strainer. There was no way one could wash a pint of cherry tomatoes in it. It wasn't worth the postage to return it, so it went into the recycling bin.

This is just a basic strainer, but it is very nicely made. It seems sturdy, and the mesh is fine enough to sift flour (which I what I bought it for, though it will be handy for straining things as well). It is six inches across, so it isn't small at all. It's just one of those basic kitchen items that everyone really needs but is kind of taken for granted when they have it. There is not enough net to stain 1/4 a cup of rice! What could someone use this for!?! Do not buy this product. Worst product I have ever ordered on Amazon, and I have ordered a lot.

This is a worthless product. It is flimsy and is essentially flat, so it holds very little. I put it in the dishwasher and it came out rusted. I threw it away.

Cheapest piece of junk! The Dollar Store has a higher quality item. Shame on this company for selling it for eight bucks. Piece of crap. I can't stress this enough.
