Monkeylectric Unisex m204 Bike Wheel Light, Multi-Colour, Small

The best thing on two wheels. Luma-tastic. A very well designed product from a small US company, Monkey Lights, as well as being fun attachments to a bicycle, also provide important side illumination. Most of my near misses from cars come from side junctions - and even with a high-vis jacket, some drivers just don't see you from adjacent angles. So these lights provide much needed warning. They are fully waterproof - and living in the UK I can assure you they have been exposed to a LOT of weather and several storms so far.The micro-LEDs put out a surprising amount of luminance. There are 8 colours and different themes and settings, very simply chosen by a small button. Mounting is quite fiddly, but once it's all in place, solid and sturdy. I haven't had to change the batteries even after several months. At speed, the whirling lights look great - especially on dark streets. I do think they should be standard issue for all bikes to be honest. The roads would look at lot more colourful and cyclists would be a lot safer.

I highly recommend these LED lights.They are well made and very bright.They are 100% waterproof.They are also a lifesaver for people who regularly use a bicycle.These lights have saved my life several times from traffic which come from the side roads !What I find with these lights,you really need to install 2-sets on one wheel to get the effect you need.They use very little battery power.They are very easy to use.Definitely a five-star for this product.For anybody who is deciding to purchase these monkey lights,I will say,it's a definite yes !

I think I bought the bottom of the range unit so it has limited options/variations for the LED colour/pattern, but the LED's are bright and can be seen well in the darkPositives:Arrived quickly; Really easy to fit (good YouTube videos if required); Bright LED's; "fun" safety/lighting optionNegatives:I'm not sure whether it really looks like the images except when the bike is on a stand and the wheel is spun really quickly (hence only 4 stars). I have ridden at 35-40 kph with it mounted on my single-speed rear wheel and although it's hard to tell when you're on the bike , it doesn't seem to look like a solid ring of light as per the ads, but this may just be the angle I am looking at it from. I think it would be improved if there were 2 LED's sources on opposite sides of the wheel this would then look better even at low speeds.Having said that I'm happy enough, just be aware that the picture is not necessarily what it will look like when you ride your bike...

Work well not to bad to instal, does the job

A little tricky to fit - black zip ties were ok, but the stainless steel/security one, quite poor - very difficult to use, and will deter sticky fingers but not real thieves who can cut all of the zip ties in seconds. There are more secure zip ties on the market which would give you greater peace of mind. As one review noted, you don't get the same effect as all the pictures & youtube videos are promoting - I am glad I saw that video before I bought these as I would have been a little disappointed - so many thanks for that review. I like these lights, they do add an extra feature to make you more visible on the roads which can only be a good thing. I like the choice of colours and themes. I don't like that they have to be left on the bike as they are not cheap lights however, the Monkey Light Pro's which seems to work really well and as good as the youtube videos suggested they do, is currently on Amazon for £800. It seems you get what you pay for. I would recommend these only as a back-up option or as a novelty. I've only had these a short while so will be happy to edit my review if my opinion changes in the next few weeks.

love this item, makes me even more visible for my very early morning cycle to work. Was interesting to fit properly so it didn't slip on the main wheel hub, but with some perseverance this was achievable and I wouldn't say hard to fit. I used the spare pads they give me for the LED portion on the cable ties. I would definitely recommend to all those cyclists who want to be seen.

great product bought 2 for my daughters 16inch bike as I had read the next model up (M210) wouldn't be suitable for 16inch bike wheels. The are in fact suitable and so she now has the M210 on the front and two of the M204 on the pack. She loves these and is the envy off all here friends!
