Lots of useful information and summary pages
My son took one look at the cover and decied that he hasnt liked the CGP books before so wasnt interested. Ypu can access this book online with a one time code, and the book also has QR code throguhout that allow you to access Spelling, punctuation and grammar quizzes. Its not easy to see a list of quizzes but when we selected Spelling we were given 10 questions, and when we selected spelling again we were given a different set of 10 questions. This is not a workbook like younger ages but is a revision book so has lots of pages of summaries without any work for the reader to work through Each section has some Warm up and Practice Questions sprinkels through the section and a knowledge oragniser at the end of each section, with some having proof reading sections. There are sections on Spelling, Punctuation, Grammar, Writing advice and a final section of Mixed Practice and Proofreading. Some of the sections start with what I felt is a bit basic for KS3 eg a page on capital use at the beginning of sentences but overall it does feel the correct level. I think it will be a useful book if I can encourage my son to read and use it regularly.

Great revision guide for KS3 teens
My son asked me how on earth you revise English. This is how! We've got 2 kids currently in Key Stage 3, and this an ideal guide for them to learn the rules of grammar. They're not big on reading so having a revision guide like this with brief guides to specific elements of grammar, a page at a time, is really helpful to them.I've also found it handy myself for brushing up on my English too. Currently studying for a level 6 certificate and soon to be embarking on a MSc, it doesn't hurt to revisit my own schooldays to improve the quality of my academic writing. May as well pick up all the marks where I can..

Great revision book
It is an excellent book of reviews, easy to understand, great practice, helps to improve the child's performance and is very explanatory. My nephew is seeing a significant improvement in his studies after starting to do revisions after school and during the half-term.

Useful for reference and revision.
There is a lot of information packed into the 124 pages of this book. It is divided into five sections: spelling, punctuation, grammar, writing advice and mixed practice and proofreading. It is not divided into years and as Key Stage Three covers three years, I think this book is best used for the final year, particularly for revision. The areas are fairly well covered and many parents will find it useful for setting out explanations of English grammar rules. As using English and explaining the how and why of it are often two separate skills and many of the terms and the rules in this book were not taught to many of today’s parents and grandparents, this book is a small much of an aid for parents to help a child as we’ll as an aid for the child themselves. The pages are rather packed, the font fairly small, but the book is not heavy, can be used selectively and does also have an online version which is free to the original purchaser, so it can be read on screen too.A good buy to aid any key stage three student.
