I bought these for a trip to Hawaii 4 months ago. I’m still in awe that my partner and I each fit a week’s worth of clothing, plus all the toiletries and other essentials into one large suitcase, but the compact nature of these towels definitely helped! We used these at the pool and out on the beach. They were fast-drying outside and super easy to knock the sand off of (and very aesthetically pleasing to look at). They hold up well in the washer and dryer, and I am still using them for summer pool days. They are much much thinner than a standard bath towel (more like the thickness of a t-shirt, but with a canvas feel), but that is to be expected with this style of towel. I imagine these towels would also be great to pack as a sitting surface for a hike, a picnic, or day at the park since they roll/fold up small and are lightweight. I recommend!

We used these Lane Linen Turkish bath towels on vacation. They were great for both sitting on them ant the beach, and wrapping up in when it got cold. Both in the double pack are excellent. The color is beautiful and matches the photos. The fabric feels soft right out of the package. The towels arrived clean, neatly folded, and securely packaged. There were no stains, snags, or loose threads. They are lightweight. They also dry faster than many traditional thick towels. The material feels comfortable against my skin. The edges are neatly finished, and the stitching looks strong. The towels are a nice size and provide good coverage. They fold easily and do not take up much space in the linen closet or the suitcase. They work well for travel, the gym, the beach, or the pool because they are not bulky. After washing, the color stayed vibrant, and the towels remained soft. They did not shed excessively or lose their shape. They feel well made and designed to last. These towels are an excellent value. I would happily purchase them again.

LUV these, so glad I bought them. not towel-like at all, more like a thin blanket. 70% cotton, and 30% polyester, though you'd never know it has polyester in it - feels and looks more like a cotton/linen blend. the color I selected is light gray, and it is just as it appears in the pictures - perfect. washability is excellent; have washed and dried both and I can't discern any obvious shrinkage. I purchased them to drape over my portable beach chair for added comfort, and of course to dry off at the beach. they don't dry me off entirely, leaving my skin a little damp, but I wouldn't expect them to - in fact they dry me off about as much as a regular terry cloth towel does - I tried both for comparison purposes since other reviewers have complained about this. I also found them a thousand times easier to shake off sand from, as compared to a regular (terry cloth) towel, and that alone made me so happy! they are super portable, and fold down into a slim profile, so much better than a normal towel's folded bulk. and they are super versatile; I've already had occasion to use one as a shawl around our fire pit in the backyard, on a cool summer evening. these are absolutely fantastic; I plan on buying more, and highly recommend them.

These are really nice and soft, but wouldn’t call them oversized. They are about the same size as a beach towel. Lightweight for packing and they do dry quickly!

This was great for the beach. It's nice and big yet light and pretty absorbent when we were using it to dry off after coming out of the water. Washed it and it got a "little" softer. No pilling up and kept its shape and color. Love that it can fold down and not take up a lot of space versus normal beach towels. I really like the look and colors of these towels. Was a good buy.

These towels have become our new summer essential! We use them for swimming, lake trips, and camping, and they've been perfect. They're lightweight, oversized, dry quickly, and are easy to pack. Great quality and a must-have for summer adventures!

OK first, the people saying these aren't absorbent: New cotton items like this need to be washed many times before they begin to absorb, and many detergents "clog" the cotton with optical brighteners. I used cloth diapers when raising a little one so I already knew that and washed these a bunch of times with a detergent that's especially good for cloth diapers (NOT that big brand everyone loves), with vinegar in the rinse. The same is true for all towels, fluffy or not, it's just more noticeable in these towels especially when new. Everyone should be washing anything in their home that's supposed to be absorbent as one would wash cloth diapers (bath towels, kitchen towels, cleaning rags ...) So that's not a product flaw, by any means. I bought a set of 6 of these towels in varied bright colors so everyone can tell which towel belongs to whom. The problems I found are that by the time I'd washed them enough to be ready to use, they'd already bled a lot and several tassels had come untied, which yields a sloppy fraying appearance. The bleeding isn't incredibly obvious, but each individual towel is definitely "tinted" with its color in the white area. I'd suggest if this is a concern, get a whole set in a similar color. Also make sure they never sit wet in the washer or the black towel will leave spots on the white part of the red towel, etc. But of course if they're all the same color that defeats the purpose of knowing which towel belongs to which person. It'd be nice if Lane Linen made a set that had no white stripes at all, making the bleeding less obvious (They are 100% cotton, which is what one wants in a bath towel, and so the bleeding might be unavoidable). I also imagine that washing them all together, over time, makes the colors sort of grayish. The sides on these are hemmed, and hemmed nicely, as opposed to the woven-in selvedge edge usually found in this type of towel at this price. The cotton is also heavier and the towel a little larger than other "Turkish" towels I have bought at similar price points. The towels feel nice and soft (provided they are washed correctly), and they do dry quickly. They do require a different approach to drying one's body as "fluffy" towels do, but that doesn't necessarily make them "worse." It's just different. I expect drying performance to improve: I still have 22" x 22" cotton kitchen towels that are 10 years old (and therefore their water-repellant "new cotton" finish is long gone), and I can dry myself fully with one of those after a shower. You just have to press a little harder to the body because - of course - a towel can't dry what it doesn't touch, and without "fluff" the towel won't touch what it isn't pressed up against. The 3 stars is mostly because of the poorly done tassels. The fringe is cut too close to the knot, and the knots too loose, so before we'd even used the towels several fringes had come untied. If I had to do it over I'd (ugh) go through every single fringe on every single towel, pulling the knots tightly and adding a drop of fabric glue, to maintain the nice-looking factory fringe. I anticipate pulling out the sewing machine, cutting off the fringe, and adding hems eventually. For the price that isn't awful -- one couldn't buy fabric at this cost -- but for me 3 stars means "you get what you pay for" not "oh wow."

This is it. If you are looking for fluffy, soft bath towels look elsewhere. I went into this purchase with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Yes, they are thin, but they are still absorbent. They aren't the softest, but they aren't scratchy either. They are big enough to wrap around an adult and have held up in the wash so far. They will be perfect to get my boys through a summer of swimming without breaking the bank. Which is exactly what I wanted.

Love these towels. So happy I bought them for our recent holiday. - They are compact to pack in suitcase. - dry you off well after a swim - towels dry quickly in the sun - look attractive - were light enough to clip to and hang off the parasol to provide more shade - seem like decent quality (although can’t vouch for how long they will last) - good value for money. Much prefer these to the microfibre travel towels I have tried.

I was hesitant about what the quality and size might be like given the incredible price, but I am in LOVE!!! These towels are not only beautiful, but they are made from soft durable fabric and the size is even bigger than expected. They are compact and dry very fast. These are ultimate favourite!! I will be purchasing more for all my camper and beach going friends.

Large and comfortable for laying on the beach
