This tool saved me. The garage where the last filter was installed used the wrong filter and it was too skinny for my wrench, and the space is quite tight. This universal wrench was delivered in only 2 hours 15 minutes for the $5 upcharge! Tool attaches to a 3/8" ratchet and grips the filter well. Magnet is a big plus. Ingenious design. Filter was on so tight I had to use a 1 foot bit extension and a 3 foot cheater bar to get the filter to turn. I took the tools to the limit and I was worried I might break something, but this wrench is high quality. I got it loosened eventually. After realizing that I can't trust the previous shop to do the job right, I am going to change my own oil from now on - and this tool will be crucial to that success. Was great for taking off my previous filter. Not so great for my new one that had a built in nut. It got the job done since i only needed to do a 3/4 turn. If the nodes that gripped the filter were just a HAIR longer it would have been perfect. Still worked exactly how intended

Been doing oil changes for about 35 years of my life. If I can’t get them off by hand I have always used an oil filter strap type wrench. Finally got around to getting this and I’m glad I did. For one it’s got a strong magnet so it can hold its own weight or the weight of an average filter easily. It’s got a rubber pad as well so no marks left on the top of the filter. I would recommend you use this to only remove filters. I just use my hand to install, unless you don’t have much hand strength, but point being don’t crank your filters on! They don’t need it. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone that does oil filter work. It’s adjustable to fit most common sizes on vehicles.
