This Sam-Pro Dual Moister Meter is a really fun tool to have in the shop. The meter works very well, easy to use, and comes with a nice pouch to store it in. I have not had any issues with it. After reading thought the instruction booklet I was good to go! Off and testing. I have used it on mostly on hard woods. I find most all the lumber in my shop is relatively the same on a given day. which makes sense if you think about wood that's being stored. I have even checked one day old maple and oak that was cut. Most of the pressure treated wood I buy is always wet. I have to let it dry out and shrink for my type of use. Now I can easily check it. The replaceable electrode pins are very sharp, as any good tool should be. Makes it easy to push in! Understanding and knowing the moister of the material in which you are working with is important. For me that is mostly hard wood lumber, treated lumber, fire wood, and blanks for turning. I would defiantly recommend this product to a friend. The great price point and functionality make it hard to pass up. Also the auto power off after a couple minutes is really a handy feature.

Last December the ground shifted causing a pipe in the concrete of our home to change angle and backflow and leak under our laminate floors. Luckily our insurance paid for the majority of the 20,000 plus dollar repairs.Not long after that I was washing dishes in the sink and after I felt water on my socks, I discovered that the U-neck PVC pipe under the sink was not attached. I immediately place a dozen or so towels over all of the areas that were wet and ran a fan over the area while I reconnected the pipe..Panic set in and I quickly ordered this product and a dehumidifier. This product came quickly, but was not really the right tool for my product. While I am still waiting for the dehumidifier, I am pretty sure that the concrete under the aminate floors is dry.This product is more suited to pierce wood, concrete and like building materials to see if they are dry. I did not want to punch holes into my new laminate to see if they were wet.Never the less, this is a quality product that I may have the opportunity to use in the future.Enjoy!

Got it today and put it to use immediately. Yesterday I bought a bunch of air dried ash lumber that I want to use soon for a project. So I of course couldn't wait to rip open the package and try it out. I popped in the included 9v battery and popped the cover off and adjusted the settings then tested my lumber. It was so easy to use and I like the optional settings for scan/max/min readings. The back few pages of the manual let you know which mode to use based on the type of material that you're testing. I know some reviewers said that they couldn't get the cap off. The version I have has instructions on the cap letting you know to push it off in a certain direction and not to pull it off. I for one am glad that the lid is nice and snug so that I don't need to worry about it falling off and damaging the sensors. My daughter and her whole family have been getting so sick over and over and we have rooted it to the house. They did a mold test and it came back positive with mold growing on it. We needed to know where the moisture was in the home and where mold was growing. What a job. I thought that possibly there was a product on the market that would be like a stud finder, but could direct us to where the moisture or mold was. I went on Amazon and found this incredible product. I purchased it right away and on Saturday we "dug in" and used it throughout the house. It worked so wonderfully and read out exact percentages of moisture in all of the surfaces of their home and exterior siding etc. I don't know how we would have gone about this without this life saving meter. It states there is a lifetime warranty, however there is absolutely no info about how to go about using the warranty. I searched the internet and cannot find anything on this manufacturer.

As a woodworker who has dealings with local saw mills, I constantly have guessed on how much moisture was in the woods ive gotten. Well, no more will I have to struggle with that.It was packaged well right out of the box, came with a carrying case, instructions and a 9volt battery. The battery compartment was a bit snug to open the first time, but after some muscle, it came open, slid the battery In and boom!!I love the instructions, and especially the species and material chart in the back to help figure out which setting to put the meter on. Since I’m new to the measure moisture club, I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to put the tips straight into the edge grain or the face grain of the woods and how long to keep it in there for to ensure an accurate reading. After doing some research face grain seems to be the better way then end grain.I’d highly recommend Sam pro tools products
