Nice date night at home!
These have become a favorite stay in date night activity for my husband and I - we have purchased a couple of the Hunt A Killer boxes, and each has been fun and interesting enough to keep us coming back. Difficulty is whatever you’d like it to be, as you can purchase different levels. They are a great gift idea and worth the money in our opinion.

Solving the case
It was easy to solve the case. I enjoy it a lot.

It’s a great play, just be careful with your evidence!
This was incredibly fun for 2 people to play! The difficulty was not impossibly hard but also not easy enough to take less than 3 hours to solve. Just keep in mind, it is a one time play. There is one piece of evidence in the box that is nearly unrecoverable if you choose to use this again after solving. Don’t do anything that you cannot undo if you plan to use this again/resell.

Great date night
Bought for a winter in home date night and we not disappointed. We ended up really getting involved with it. Took about 3 hours of you really get into solving it based on instructions. A few clues were difficult to solve and some of the evidence is...tedious but I highly recommed

Satisfying Self-Contained Mystery
I’ve done a lot of these mystery games and I found this one to be quite satisfactory. I like that these self contained boxes are less guided than the multi set box sets and make you have to work to sort things out. The difficulty was reasonable in that it will take some degree of skill to work out but also won’t necessarily be a challenge that will push seasoned detective game veterans to their limit. The puzzles were clever and the playtime will probably be about 2.5-4 hours depending on your ability. The only knock I will give this is for the price but as far as being an enjoyable mystery case for fans of the genre I give it a 4.5/5.

Great product and company!
I’ve done some of these before and this one was a gift. My brother loved it and had fun solving the mystery. Only negative is that it’s pretty pricey for a one time game. But you can always regift or sell it.

Missing Clue Information, But Still Solvable
This is the 3rd Hunt a Killer game that my husband and I have played, and our least favorite of them. (Mystery at Magnolia Gardens and Body on the Boardwalk were the others we played.) Overall, these games require a LOT of reading - we are big readers, but the reading required in the game is a lot - and when you are playing with a group it's either a lot of quiet time as everyone reads through everything by themselves, or a lot of shared reading out loud...which means there is a lot of listening. We were able to solve the mystery without using some of the clues at all (because they were so tedious or irrelevant). The cypher puzzle was the least favorite we've encountered so far, we figured out how to do the cypher quickly, but then to continue on to decipher everything was not much fun. Some of the clues were missing - they were mentioned in the solution letter, but we went back to look for the mentions of those clues and they were nowhere to be found. I would also recommend a magnifying glass on hand as some items are too tiny for the naked eye. The clue items themselves are well made and well put together, so they definitely don't skimp on those. It would just help if they checked to ensure all clues are actually included and that they were better at packing their boxes. There is an "items included" card, but the items in the box aren't in order and the papers are in multiple directions - so it takes a while to verify you have everything needed to start the game.
