With rising energy prices and the threat of global warming, there has never been a better time to look for a more economical method of clothes drying. The traditional cast iron pulley operated clothes airer has been part of the British household for centuries and is a tried and tested method which spans many generations. Comprising of four wooden laths suspended between two cast iron rack ends, it can be raised and lowered on a pulley system and makes good use of the warm air trapped in the ceiling space. This means that it not only looks great, but provides a versatile and sustainable alternative to the tumble dryer. It is also ideal for homes and businesses where space is at a premium. Our classic Pulleymaid clothes airer comes with everything you will need, including assembly instructions. The cast iron components come in a colour of white or black and there are 6 different lengths to choose from. All of our products are produced using traditional techniques and include only the finest components. The pulleys and rack ends are solid cast iron, powder coated to ensure durability, and the pine laths are specially produced from a renewable source in our own workshop. In addition, each individual lath has a four rounded edge and is hand sanded to provide a smooth finish and achieve that truly traditional look.

Energy-saving drying!
I'm really glad I bought this item - it is now in use almost daily and works perfectly.I found the instructions quite easy to follow , with the only tricky bit securing it to the ceiling. It requires a good solid beam and some strength to screw the large screws into the wood. If on show (mine's in a boiler room) I would like a different type of rope - it is coarse and natural coloured. Apart from that the quality is good.

Okay
Does what it say's on the tin. No problem installing, works and looks good. Only problem is the rope is not of good quality and has frayed a little.
