I've been using these lighters for over a year now, and as long as you follow 'the rules' they are very reliable. Firstly, when you open and close the lid, try not to let it snap open or closed - the hinge will split and break after time if you do - just guiding it open and closed stops this. A lot of people seem to have issues with it not igniting - the valves are very sensitive, and you need to adjust it to find the sweet spot - it may drift as you refil the gas, so check it after refilling. As with any gas lighter, it's important to bleed all remaining gas out before refilling or you'll get air trapped in the gas tank and it will run out much faster. Just press the valve and let it all escape, turning the lighter upside down and right way up as you continue to hold the valve open with the supplied tool until nothing comes out - then refill and you're good to go. Finally, all high pressure gas lighters don't work as well when they are cold - holding it in your hand for a few seconds is usually enough to warm the gas and allow ignition.

2nd time buying these as I really liked them but the first time I bought them the lid hinge snapped & the lid separated completely. I thought it was a one off so rebought them in Feb & the lid hinge has just snapped again. A real shame because otherwise they were great but I won’t be buying them again
