24V 40VA Thermostat and Doorbell Transformer, Power Supply Compatible with Nest, Ecobee, Sensi and Honeywell Thermostat, Nest Hello Doorbell and All Versions of Ring Doorbell (Style 1)

Needed to upgrade our existing one so we could install a direct wire type video doorbell that required more power then the builder grade that was currently installed in our home. It was easy enough to install considering it was basically just swapping the old with the new one.

I have 2 Nest Hello doorbells on the same transformer. The original transformer was was only putting out 19.1 volts. I was having a problem with my Nest Hello doorbells where one or the other would cut out intermittently. I purchased this transformer, which is a 24 V output hoping that it would solve the problem. And sure enough it did. With both doorbells hooked up, the output voltage of this transformer is 28.4 volts. It was easy to install as well. The top transformer in the photo is the new one compared to the cheap, smaller original one. Obviously, make sure you cut the power to your house before you install this.

Hooked up a 1st Generation Ring Pro to existing NuTone intercom. Worked ok but would frequently disconnect. Switched out the transformer to a 16v 30va transformer from a big box store and it didn’t really improve. Had complete loss of power within a year. Bought new Ring Pro 2 hoping the doorbell itself had just failed but still no power. Decided to up the power. Ordered this, came same day. Easy install and the new Ring Pro 2 is working like a charm. I hope this transformer lasts. Very happy with the product.
