I was looking for a pair of tongs for my new barbecue.I didn't want to spend over £ 10 on something that will be only occasionally used.I saw these. They looked like everything I needed, for a very reasonable price.I ordered the 30cm long ones, as that seemed a good safe working distance.I must say, I'm impressed.The tongs themselves are made from 0.5mm steel sheet, folded and pressed into shapeYes, they are not the sturdiness tongs made, but they are strong, and certainly more than adequate for turning sausages and burgers.They have a nice little captive clip, that you slide down the handles to keep them closed.It doesn't come right off in use, so you can't lose it. A nice touch.They are magnetic, so I have no doubt they are made of standard stainless steel, with a nominal chromium mix.For the money, I'm very pleased. They are exactly what I wanted.If you are expecting a "Le Creuset" style, forged from girders, type of tongs, then you will be disappointed. If however, you accept these for what they are. A perfectly acceptable pair of tongs that will happily turn your barbecue sausages and burgers, then you won't be disappointed.Recommended.I hope you found this review helpful.

Cheap, cheerful and absolutely fit for purpose.Versatile for use in the kitchen or over the barbecue, they are precise enough to flip individual pieces of diced meat in a frying pan and strong enough to lift and turn joints of meat smoking on the BBQ with equal ease.Only gripe I have is the locking strip which tends to slip down and lock the tongs closed during use. Not a huge issue just changed my grip to stop it slipping, but it is a mild annoyance. Not that it will stop me buying more if I need them.

It's really thin and flimsy, but it's really cheap too so that's what you get! Still works fine, just don't expect lifting anything heavy with it, like a trout or a T bone..

I mean, come on - it's £2.49. Were you expecting one made of silver? They're a decent set of tongs. If you want a totally mind-blowing pair, spend more money. These are more toward the cheap and cheerful side of things. Short, which I like, as it lets me get near to the food to handle it better. The bit that grips the food at the front can bite in a bit, but it isn't too hard to learn how to handle your food with care, as you should already be doing.

These this are exactly as described, they are exactly what I was looking for and good value for money.The problem is that there is no grip - since you are generally using them for turning over something that you are frying or grilling they get grease on them and become impossible to use.They spring apart and you have no control since they are very slipperyI have used them twice and today, as I was turning a mushroom I was frying in hot butter, they spring apart flipping themselves and the mushroom into the butter causing it to splash all over my hands.They are so dangerous I put them straight into the bin!

I don't know whether or not this is stainless steel, but so far these don't seem to mind the dishwasher, and are so easy to use.Yes, there's a bit of a knack to holding the tongs with the sliding metal clasp wedged in the flat of the hand to prevent it sliding forward, but only those with poor hand coordination should worry. That clasp does come in especially handy and is much safer for clamping the tongs to the edges of cuts of meat, pieces of chicken etc, when browning the edges in a pan, instead of trying to hold in place with a fork.

My wife to be and I have always used these in cooking and the design is superb, for those of us who have wonky hands. We use these tongs regularly, getting hot stuff out of oven like pizzas, stuffing balls, anything that is fiddly to handle. They come with a safety lock, when not in use so that you can store them easily. They are easy to wash up too, no matter how dirty they get, they never need a scrub just a soak and a rinse. Don't get these mixed up with washing clothes tongs, they are for cooking only, hence the name. I really, really recommend these, they are the biz.

Good quality, despite feeling a little flimsy works well and is flexible and sturdy. I would just like to mention that the size of the box is obscene, however, and the packaging should really be reduced.
