DEWALTElectric Drill, Mid Handle Grip, 1/2-Inch, 10-Amp (DWD215G) , Yellow

I got this for my dad, and it has been great. It had more than enough power to drill though some 1/8 and 1/4 inch metal plates, and it is pretty well balanced for a drill this big. I have a drill that has a pistol grip, but this mid grip handle is easier to work with.

Works as it should

The task of boring holes to euthanize some tree stumps overwhelmed my collection of lesser-powered corded electric drills (including a usually reliable Makita 6.0 amp 5/8" hammer drill). Pleased with my previous purchase of a DeWalt DCD970 cordless which, if I had enough batteries and Popeye's forearms, could also handle this job, I ordered the DWD215G. Plenty of power, durable construction and the adjustable auxiliary handle made quick and safe work of my project. The Makita lost its' place in my tool locker to the DeWalt DWD215G.

This works as expected. I bought another vendor of similar size and it burnt out (smoke everywhere) rather quickly under the abuse (heavy load for long duration), but this one is having no issues.

Have a Milwaukee drill, 1/2 impact and was trying to drill 2" solid holes. Milwaukee started to smoke. Order this unit and much more powerful. The Milwaukee you can hold onto when it gets stuck, but this Dewalt will not be stopped, it will twist you around with it and is very powerful drill that will not be stopped for tough job. Very happy with it and would recommend purchasing.

I needed an industrial grade corded drill to drill some 5/8" bolt holes in 6 x 6 verticals over and over again for a machine shed lean to (which is, incidentally awesome). My engineer is kind of an over-designer so everything is way past minimum. I bought this thing for that purpose and it performed flawlessly. But the amount torque is so great that you really have to play with it carefully. I'm an old hand at drilling and I was taken aback. Definitely not for the small stuff.

have had the drill for a bit but actually never worked it... decided to drill out 1in holes in aluminum rims to 1 1/14.... though no working hours on the drill and storage kept and all done right.... second hole the handle snapped away from the body and yanked the wires.... so now throw away and not worth a walmart brand and pissed cause job not done....

The DEWALT DWD215G appears to be well made. Side handle rotates easily and can be removed quickly. I purchased the drill for with use with hole saws and auger bits that none of my other drills could handle. Although I have only drilled a few holes, this drill has impressed me with the ability to turn large bits without hesitation. The trigger speed control works better than any other drill I own. The power cord is also longer than on most other drills.

Lots of power. Not too heavy. Good speed control. Everything I expected from Dewalt.

as with most Dewalt products, this is great, i am a light user, but this thing is a beast! tons of power when you need it, most of features that I was looking for, only thing is it does not have electric brake. Becareful using this if you not careful it could twist your wrist, or if on a ladder it could make you fall while using.
