"The best day I ever had at work." -- Jeremy Clarkson
I can watch this episode already on Hulu+ or Netflix but I wanted to own it because it is what I consider to be a "perfect" episode of the show. The car review is the quintessentially British Aston-Martin Virage. The "Star in the Reasonably Priced Car" is the virtually-unknown-outside-the-UK but very funny Ross Noble. However, it's the location "challenge" video that's the "set piece de resistance" for this episode. It starts off as an ordinary hot-hatchback story in Italy with the lads each choosing their idea of the "best in breed" but, after a few of the standard challenges they're sent down to Monaco to get the best times for their rigs (as we say out here in the western USA) on three laps of the Monte Carlo Grand Prix course. They are, of course, as happy as pigs in slop at the opportunity, Jeremy Clarkson especially so. He does his homework, pays very close attention to his trainer on the practice runs and approaches the race with professional determination. Sorry, no spoilers, watch the episode to see what happens.

Love TG
I watch top gear every night. Honestly. It's a problem how much I like this show. I watch it when I'm going to sleep every night. I have probably seen every episode a dozen times. Some of the newer episodes I've probably seen more. I'm actually watching it right now on TV. It's crazy how I don't even get sick of this show. I can watch an episode i've seen 25 times again and not think twice about it. It's the perfect balance of funny and educational: In that, it's hardly educational. I have learned a lot about cars watching this show, but that's after seeing each episode many times.

if you love cars - this is your show
The English version of Top Gear is by far the best show on cars ever made. No, they don't review the crap we Americans usually drive but who'd watch a show about mini vans or Buick LeSabres? If you know what a DB5 is and find English humor entertaining this is your show. If you would like to know what a DB5 is (think James Bond) then this is your show. If you just like adults behaving like teenagers in some of the greatest cars ever made then this is your show.

Quality of information
I love it. They should make another series like this. Call it something else but do it exactly the same. I miss top gear.

Entertaining!
My sons and husband love Top Gear. Me, I've gotta be in the mood for it, but do find it amusing on occasion. Only problem is they're able to get the episodes free from our local library. I purchased this one as a special treat for them because it's brand new and they've not seen it yet. They loved it because it featured one of their (collective) favorite cars, a Jaguar something or other :-) I prefer the Black Adder series for my British Humor fix :-)

Terrific BBC Series!
We bought this for my 14 year old son who is a HUGE fan of the show and we do not have cable. These guys who host the show have tremendous chemistry between them, it's funny, it's engaging, it's informative and just plain cool! I highly recommend and this is from a Mom talking...it's fun for the whole family! A great buy and I'm thrilled that Amazon offers this to purchase.

Strong
At its core, the popular UK motoring series is a formulaic variety show and it is a fiercely addicting one. Cheeky hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are knowledgeable and hilarious. Their track-sizzling races and quirky challenges are bolstered by a blend of deadpan comedy, motorsports enthusiasm and accessible auto-info. Their celebrity guests are a blast (thanks in large part to the series' Reasonably Priced Car laps) and their banter, reviews and news coverage never seems to grow old. You don't even need to be a gear head to enjoy the series at every turn. Season 17 is as strong as any to date.

What More Could A Petrol Head Want
On its 17th series,Top Gear offers up a whole bag of goodies for lovers of internal combustion.Theres the Nissan GTR,in its latest incarnation, slaying the new Jaguar, the amazing Lamborghini Aventador, and the Eagle Speedster. We also get to see, only in a single picture mind you, another car inspired to be a tribute to the E-Type,which,while it is a thing of beauty,is unfortunately named a Growler. There is also a very funny 70's detective serial send up to mark the return of the Jensen Interceptor, and this was the series that alerted us to the fact that Richard cant tell the difference between Stockholm and Helsinki.Showed us just how deeply James hates the Nurburgring, and that Jeremy is,well, just Jeremy. So as you can see its business as per usual from the boys.Great stuff all round, and never a dull moment.I have to inform you that the running time of 420 minutes,is wrong, its roughly 360.I know, who would have thought that the BBC would make such a mistake, its so unlike them to get the running time of their Top Gear DVDs wrong. Its not like its an ongoing habit.
