I learned to play in the USA.
Very easy to learn. You need big hands.

Awful yellow!
We bought this pack for home and we’re going to use the old pack in our caravan. Now it is more likely to be the other way around. The cards are very slippery and difficult to deal and the yellow is far too bright making it difficult to see against the white! The old mustard, although grubby looking was far better. As a game we love it and play several times a week to keep my 87yr old mum’s brain active.

Looks a bit like, but definitely isn't, Uno
Phase 10, typically, is played in 10 rounds, or phases, which have different goals that need to be achieved. Completion of a phase means you can progress on to the next phase till you reach, and complete, phase 10.This is a relatively simple game to play, once you have got the general rules figured out, that shouldn't take long. The phases have goals for you to achieve, collect a set of numbers, get a run of numbers etc. What I found is that for something simple and easy, it takes a lot longer to play than you think. Each player turn is relatively fast but it's the round ending condition of having an empty hand that causes the most issues with timing. As it's all about card drawing, this is extremely luck dependent at times but it does add a little bit of tension, and frustration, which does add to the fun. This is a very accessible card game and suitable for most people, but it might be an idea to generate a few simple rule/ play adjustments to smooth out the different rounds/ phases. All in all I personally like it and feel it's a good alternative to Uno (though I feel the only similarities are the card designs).

Must have travel game
We've got so many other family and friends hooked on this game - rather like Uno it is really easy to pick up and know what to do, and suitable for any age. Really easy to put in your travel bag. You do really need a notepad to record who is on what phase and the points adding up, and one game to get through all the phases can be too much for one sitting. It does twist and turn, so winning a couple of phases doesn't mean its a done deal, sometimes one person just gets stuck in one phase for round after round - the luck of the draw! For those that know gin rummy it is loosely based on this i.e. sets of same number or runs of numbers in sequence - but it is easier to pick up and there are more variations on the combinations you need to get phase by phase.

Best card game ever
We first encountered Phase 10 about 10 years ago while holidaying in the Nilgiris in S India. In the guesthouse where we were staying the pattern was for guests to play various family games each evening. Phase 10 was a top favourite. The American couple who owned 2 sets kindly gave us one, and we have played it ever since with grandchildren, teenage friends, families. It provides fun and challenge for hours on end. We have bought many sets and given them as much appreciated gifts to friends in Ireland, England, Germany, USA, Brazil. It works really well even when participants have little English.....the last Phase 10 we gave is now being used by Brazilian families on their beach vacation. I would add that it is possibly advisable to play it first time with someone who can help with the instructions - but not essential.

Phase 10 July 2016
The time between the purchase and the delivery was roughly 3 days, which I think is very good and fast. The item arrived without problems to the address provided.I have previously bought this game from Amazon US and it was a deluxe edition so I can see the differences in storage (now: carbox; before: tin) and quality (different colours, texture and thickness in the cards material). It is an original mattel game.As I am happy to have found it (not available in Ireland).I will consider myself very pleased with the purchase, although I would prefer to buy the deluxe tin pack again in the future.Good product and fun game. Enjoy.
