Efficient & low priced! Great for curly hair.
Love this! Like others have said, it's basically what they used in salons decades ago. So, it's a modern day take on a great classic design for a dryer. It's easy to use, works well, & dries my hair MUCH more quickly than a diffuser + blow dryer ever would. I have wavy/curly hair, & my hair doesn't get too wild during the drying process. (If yours dries fast in general or does when you use this, I would recommend using it for less time.)It seems to be good quality for the cost. It would be easy to travel with, but you have to factor in things like travel blow dryers being too small to fit, or having to use a blow dryer without a low heat setting, etc. But it would be very portable if needed. Also I noticed some mentioned their dryers burned their bonnets, but if you only use low heat (or short bursts of medium heat) you shouldn't have any issues.

Compact and works well
When I got it, I could not believe that this hair-drying system folds up and actually fits in my purse...and a small one, at that! As I unpacked it, I marveled at the ingenuity it took to create this particular set-up. I decided to to try it for the first time on a very busy day. Unfortunately, by the time I got done running around doing what I had to do, there was only a short amount of time left to actually sit down and dry my long, below-the-shoulder length hair. EEK! I had to be somewhere to perform in like 40 minutes. I turned it on full blast (I could only stand the “cool” setting while doing that), but my hair was almost completely dry just a few minutes later. There were just a few damp spots toward the top back area. I rearranged a few things and a short time later my hair was actually presentable to be seen. Who’da thunk? Compare that to normally wearing curlers for a few hours. I also used it when I curled my Mom’s hair. She’s 91 and enjoyed sitting there, letting her hair dry on the “cool” setting. For some reason, drying it this way produced a more “set” curl for her than letting it dry on its own, and didn’t take long at all. I was extremely pleased with the result. It’s kind of cheap looking but well worth the money, in my book.

Highly recommended, but drawstring could use some improvement
I’m sitting here using the hood for the first time as I write this review and it is definitely a fantastic alternative to the regular hooded dryers that tend to be clunky and take up space. I also like that I can use this when I travel (as I am right now) and it gets the job done well. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because I wish there was a different and more secure way to tighten the hood and keep it in place around your head. I just spent the first 20 minutes or so adjusting and readjusting the hood on my head because the drawstring wouldn’t stay tight. The string itself is made from a braided silky-ish type material that has very little traction, so the little ball with the button to adjust the tightness of the string kept sliding and making the hood fit loosely. As it loosens, more heat escapes around the edges and after a few seconds it feels like my neck and ears and forehead are burning up! Like I said, it took me awhile to adjust the hood and my scarf on my head, but I just pulled the scarf down a little more to cover those parts of my head and neck that were exposed to the heat coming from the edges of the hood and that helped. The chin strap is also very helpful for keeping the hood from flying off my head because that’s exactly what it does when I turn on my blow dryer and the hood puffs up! However, the chin strap sometimes digs in or feels like it’s choking me a little, and if I loosen it then the hood doesn’t sit low enough on my head to dry each section.Overall, I highly recommend this, but for some it might take some adjusting and getting used to before it fits comfortably.

Very nice bonnet hair dryer to do the job
For the record, this is how i feel right now, as its a brand new purchase. We all know how it can be where youre excited about a product and write a great review and then something bad happens. LOLWhat I can say I like about this product is that the attachment fits very snugly on my gold n hot blow dryer. Its very secure. And I notice that the hose part, or whatever its considered, is longer than my other one. I like to stick the dryer in a crevice and have my hands free. Matter of fact Im wearing it right now as I type. Both hands free. I also notice that it doesnt burn the flock outta your head like my old one did. I think cuz theres holes on the part that attaches to the nozzle and maybe it blows out some air so its not so much hot air pressure. Idk.But anywho, its very comfy to sit under and I really love the straps that keep it on your head. I actually rigged my old one by using binder clips and long ribbon. That worked ok but wasnt as secure feeling as this one. Plus the metal on the binder clips used to get hot and i had to move it around to keep it from burnin me. Ok thats it!

Not great for drying curly hair
I have naturally curly hair, and after haircuts my stylist always has me sit under a hood dryer to dry (with clips at the roots to give it some lift and volume). The result is always really nice, good volume with very little frizz. I wanted to recreate this at home but obviously a large professional hood dryer is not practical, so I decided to give this soft bonnet a try. Unfortunately it seemed to flatten my hair more than anything. Not sure if this will make sense, but — there are two layers of vinyl to the bonnet, and the air fills up in between them and inflates the "walls," rather than inflating the inner bonnet to create space around my head. So the inflated walls press down on my hair. I think the key part of the hood dryer working so well is that it doesn't actually touch my curls at all, so they dry in their natural shape.I will say that it seems well-constructed, the hose fits snugly around my hair dryer, the drawstring around the head and the chin strap work great to keep it in place. I used it a handful of times before I realized what was going on on the inside so I can confirm that it works, just not for what I need. Bummer. I'll hang on to it in case I ever want to do a deep conditioning treatment or something.

Hint: Don’t cover your ears with the bonnet.
The bonnet worked wonderfully. I’m happy with the large size of the bonnet. I was able to have “magical hair rollers” on my big head and there was still room enough for air to circulate. I fastened the bonnet so my ears were left out and then could easily use high speed and medium heat. It took just over an hour to dry my medium length hair.

Great if you have rollers in your hair
I like to use hair rollers occasionally and this bonnet fitted well over the rollers and dried my hair evenly

Worth it.
Great adjustable size. Works well for applying diffuse heat when doing deep conditions treatments.
