Q: Can this be used on lawns and does in reqire rain or water to activate it?

Yes Lillian that was why I ordered some to use on my lawn,but unfortunately the order went missing so I will have to reorder. I was also intending using it on my tomatoes which I grow with my own hydroponic feed mixture. If you use urea on your lawn be careful you do not burn the grass, as it is 46% nitrogen. I use a meter to give me the conductivity value of the diluted mixture but if you do not have one and are putting it on with a watering can, try something like 2 spoonfuls in 1.5 - 2.0 gallon can of water and test it on an area where it will not matter if it burns! Then adjust the amount added or subtracted to suit. If I had got my order I could have given you a more accurate measure but until I can make up a similar mixture I am afraid that is the best I can advise.

Unfortunately I never received my order of urea IT WENT MISSING. But I have used it when I owned my tomato nursery and grew plants in hydroponics. I would advise using it in solution preferably it is very high in nitrogen and could burn the plant roots if applied as granules dug into the soil. If you want it to green up your lawn you could spread it thinly on the grass and then irrigate to wash it in. It is best applied out doors in spring and summer. It is a long time since I used it last so I can not remember the ratio to mix, it but if you study a Miracle Grow pack or similar and go with their advice that would be safe

Q: can i use the fertiliser again once opened?

Yes you can. It will keep for years providing you tie up the bag after each use and keep it dry. You only need to use an ounce per brassica plant keeping it away from the stalk if using it for vegetables. It can also be scattered sparingly on grass to keep lawns looking good and you cutting it!
