I like this product, however when you do try to remove it from sheet rock it does tear the paint and top layer of sheet rock off.

Good quality nanotape. I've ordered others that are thin and difficult to peel off the backing. This is nice and thick.

Great for keeping items from sliding however, I used a 6 inch piece to hold my .5lb item from falling and the adhesion fails within 24 hours. Yes, I prepped both surfaces with alcohol as well.

Different adhesives have very different properties and this one has characteristics that make it quite useful.Strength: no doubt these are strong once its laid on a surface. Once pressed on, it does not want to come off easily. But the best part is...with some patience and care, you CAN separate it.Removal: Despite how strong a 'bond' is made, you can actually pull this apart with some.patience. If you've laid out a long strip and separating seems impossible you can pry it apart, just do it incrementlly. You can pry open an edge gently and wedge something to keep it open and the constant pressure will eventually break the adhesion free without much damage to the surfaces. It'll take time and maybe a bit of force but it works.Residue: Leaves absolutely no residue that I've noticed. No stick residue gets left behind and the tape itself is tough and wont tear apart easily.Clarity: these tapes are thick, but very clear. These are great for acrylic sign holders or use on glass.Thickness: This can be a plus or minus, but the thickness is not that pronounced and can be helpful if the surface might be recessed.Re-Use: In a bind, these can actually be re used. I had removed a module stuck under my footwell in my car to work on. It was a bit of work trying to get the tape off the module so I decided to wash the tape with soap and water. Dust and grit came off fairly easily and it was useable again. I wouldnt bet on the same strength but it was plenty strong to re-use.
