In a day and age where most tools are drop-forged, stamped or cut out and then poorly tempered, a majority of people have never had the pleasure of using a hand-forged tool. Hammer forging packs the steel, producing a very fine-grained, dense metal. This process also introduces more carbon into a smaller area. Best Chisel in the on the Planet!
I have used Barr Hand-Made Chisels for over 12 years now. I have owned Hand-Made Tools from Germany,England &Japanese Chisels,Saws mallets...Nothing will 'Feel'as Good in your Hand,as a Barr Chisel. The Ballance is Like Holding a Viking Sword! I have been "Carving" Timber Frames for a long time and have restored many a Barn in the Past, and I can say 'First Hand' after your Timbers are cut to size,and the measurements are Layed out...You pick up your 2" Barr Chisel. When you open the box, your Chisel will be VERY SHARP ! In fact, I can say that not only are the instructions on how to Keep your 'New' Chisel Sharp, but you feel as though you can ask Him anything about care of his Products( I also have a 1-1/2" Chisel- for Hardwood Timbers /2" is used for Soft Wood Timbers, based on the "Size" of Mortise)..I have His Leather Hand Crafted Chisel 'Tip' Savers,and a Leather Belt Holster- Handy when in the "Beams"...This Man "Creates" a Tool you will "Hand" down to your Children..can't say Enough,you have to 'Use' them yourself...if there was a 10 Star Rating System...!

Brilliant Chisels
These are the real-deal professional tools. I am a timber framer who has owned and used several of these Barr chisels over the years. They are without a doubt the best tools I own. It sounds ridiculous to write it down, especially because I own and love a lot of tools, but when I consider how well balanced these tools are in the hand and how well they hold an edge over extended periods of time (needs only minor honing after a long, hard days work of chiselling mortises), then I have to recommend them. Barr chisels are more perfect for doing their job perfectly than I have ever experienced before. A pleasure to own and use daily. This is a bargain for a tool this good, especially considering I own many other chisels from several other manufacturers that are in a similar price point. I wish I had bought these first! Buy and enjoy for a lifetime.
