Color Not Perfect, but Correctable with Modest Effort
Thank heavens there are finally reasonably accurate 78mm LED replacements for the hot, power-hungry tungsten originals. But all is not ideal. I deal with color of light as a cinematographer. Although these LEDs are plenty bright and reasonably near their rated color temperature, they have a rather huge green spike in their spectrum. If you just need lumens and aren't too concerned about color accuracy, all these typed will do fine. But realize that these will not allow the red/pink hues in skin tones to be seen like with tungsten. For instance, if you are making color judgments, such as with makeup application, these will not be good...unless you do a bit of modification like we do in the movie world. These all have about 3200K +/- 150K color temperature, so you probably don't need to adjust that. The green spike can be adjusted. Roscoe (or similar) 1/4 MinusGreen gel will correct the green spike. You can buy this by the sheet here on Amazon. You just need to cut a small piece that can be taped to the lamp with simple Magic Transparent tape at each end, such as to provide a "filter" for the lamp. This will reduce the net lumens slightly, but the color will be back in your face and room. If you find the 1/4 MinusGreen a bit too rosey in net hue, simply trim a bit of area off of the piece, permitting a bit more of the native green to pass unfiltered. You may have to experiment a little to get it where you like it, but then you can cruise for a long time with color accurate, cool, economical LEDs.

Early Failure - did NOT last as long as promised
I waited to provide a review until I had used it for a reasonable period of time. Alas, this unit is NOT a long term/use device.I use it above a work bench for fine detail projects and when first installed, it was great. After a few weeks, I noticed it started to take a moment to light up. No big deal, really, but slightly curious. After about ~500 hours of use, 3-4 hours a day, 5-6 days a week, it wouldn't fully light up. Only came up to about 25% brightness. I made sure all the contacts were clean and solid on both the device and fixture( typical spring loaded fixture) and no improvement.I attempted to contact the seller(manufacturer?) and had no luck so I worked with Amazon and received a refund. With a listed 60,000hrs life, it didn't even make it 1% of that. Pretty poor performance from a life expectancy point of view. Coupled with NON-existent customer service from the seller, I would avoid this device unless you are willing to replace it a couple times a year.

They actually fit small "workshop" type square reflector floods!
I work on old cars as a hobby and had a garage with 12 halogen 150 W floodlights...they drew so much current that I couldn't run a small welder and keep all the lights on! I have tried to find suitable LED replacements---but none ever fit--the LED's were too "fat" and wouldn't clear the rear reflector (most are 25mm round). these lights fit perfectly! They have a nice large aluminum heat sink and are very bright. Obviously not as bright as a 150 w halogren---but about the same as a 100w. the LED used is rated at 50 lumens per diode--there are 24--so guessing about 1200 lumens. The best part is that all 12 lights now consume less than one light before. One small downside is that light is (as advertised) very "cold white"...much whiter than even halogens--not a problem in a garage...liked them so much--just bought another 5 packs..

Very bright, didn't last very long.
Update, 3.5 years later. The 189 mm one I bought last year was very nice and bright, but even if we had it on 24/7 that would still be less than the claimed hours, and in reality, we use it an hour a week at most. So. It lasted less than 200 hours, putting it at a cost of $.18/hour, which is way too much. Also, Amazon is having my review my second purchase, when I was careful to buy the smaller size. The smaller bulb is also good. I use it in the portable shop-dual halogen light fixture. It doesn't always turn on the first time I click it on, but it usually turns on the second time. I've been considering removing the switch, since I don't really need it - just plug it in.It is brighter than the halogen bulb it is replacing, and hopefully will last longer when I tip over the fixture...Original review:I meant to buy a 4.7" unit, but didn't notice this was bigger. And it costs $7 to return, so I'm going to figure something out. It is super bright, and I'm looking forward to increasing the brightness of my driveway light. (I intended it to be used in my portable shop light, but I'll have to buy another one for that project).Unfortunately, this seller's bulbs are not reliable and last less than the halogen it replaced

Near perfect halogen replacement!
I was looking for replacement bulbs for the 78mm halogen lighting installed in our house, and thought I'd save some money in the long run by going with LEDs.The problem has been hard for me to find R7S J Type LED replacements that are as bright or even close to the brightness of the original halogen bulbs. In addition, some bulbs heatsink designs I found were inefficient causing overheating and premature failure.I tried out three different styles before finding this one. It is very close to the original brightness, and the warm white matches the color temperature perfectly. You'll want to verify the measurements since this has a bulky heatsink.Overall, I'm very pleased with the design and function, and will be purchasing more soon.

bright lights, poor offset
These are very bright and work as expected, there was one design flaw though. They placed the connectors (offset) too far back on them. I was able to place them into the light housing but unable to close the glass on either set of flood lights I have. Due to the offset the "bulb" extends to far forward, blocking the lens/glass cover from seating.Long story short, lights work well but if you are wishing to place them into a flood light/lamp, check the off set and ensure you have a lot of space between the glass front to where the electrode/connectors are.

Nice Bright LED
These LEDs do fyt most fitting but are cery large and are too big for some halogen replacement. Also they must be moubted without rge safety shatter shield required by the halgen bulbs.. They are expesive re[lacements.

Best halogen bulb replacement
This is the perfect replacement for my halogen bulbs in the bathroom. It's super bright and uses less energy. It's also quite safe to human touch.

Halogen Bulb replacement - fail
Exactly as portrayed on the site. Nice white light. I appreciate the minimal, recyclable packaging.Great replacement for the R7s halogen bulbs. I hope they last as long as advertised.Installed these bulbs on Oct 7. It has only been 5 days and one of the two bulbs has already failed.

Work great on the generator
Perfect replacement for 100 watt halogen bulbs, these run on my generator with no flicker, same color as the old halogen ones
