I bought this just to get a magnetic plate with the standard 17mm ball socket, so only commenting on that part of it.It's great. Nice strong magnets. The chrome surround that looks tacky in the images is actually brushed and nice and subtle. The logo isn't too intrusive (for when the phone's not mounted), but I'll still be covering it with some vinyl. The best (and unexpected) feature is a rubber insert to the ball socket that really locks the plate into position when the socket is tightened up. Overall, very impressed. Not the usual Chinese junk.

The plastic plate holder over the magnet is slippery. The phone turning constantly while we travel. Not holding vertically.

I think anyone who drives a car should have one of these and a magnetic phone cover. It makes life so much easier.

This is very easy to install, just hook on to a vain of an air vent and tightening up the thumb wheel for a really secure hold.Using the supplied metal discs (a rectangular and a round one supplied) the magnetic hold was very tight and strong.It says in the blurb “compatible with” iPhone 12. I use an iPhone with a MagSafe case and it does not hold it at all.

Be aware that it attaches to the air vent and any "fancy" vent designs that alters the standard slatted vents may well mean that this will not fit. Magnetic feature does require an additional magnet whilst driving as the phone alone will only hold without it when the phone is stationary. Two magnets are included and when applied to the phone or (preferably) case then the hold is very secure, and can withstand very bumpy road surfaces.
