Used this to secure a bench at our allotment, with an 8mm security cable and a padlock from screwfix. It went into the ground well, the site is heavy clay with a layer of river dredging on top, it went through the whole lot no problem and is very solid. I could feel it hit a couple of rocks on the way down and it drove straight past them. It is intended to stop opportunists and I think it should serve this purpose well. I used a tine of a garden fork through the loop to turn it in and that worked a treat, didn't need to spend extra on a steel bar to get it in the ground. If I need another ground anchor for a similar purpose I'd definitely buy another one, especially considering the competitive pricing - I found identical items at three times the price elsewhere.

Used this as a tethering point for Xmas decorations

Delivered in prime next day. At first looks solid bit if kit. As it happens could do with been galvanised more than painted, that said the plate may compensate just been a,heavier gauge,downside is screwing it in ground is a effort. Bought for anchoring down the patio set ready for winter and of course on windy days. handy thing for security as well. May be drawn to ordering more

Excellent piece of kit vital if you need to secure anything outside from say for instance high winds. Very reasonably priced, and great quality.

Works ok thinner and smaller than l thought

Really heavy and tough. Will be using two to lock a bike down next to my tent when camping. Have confidence that they will be really good security devices in what will be a difficult location. A thief can rotate the bike to extract a single ground anchor but two ground anchors prevents this. I will position one at each end of the bike and use a D lock at one end (through the frame and back wheel) and a chain at the other (through the frame and front wheel).

Pointless product as snapped in soft mud

I have been delighted with these. I thought that they were bigger but have found they are the perfect blend of size ease of placement and holding power. The surface finish is prone to coming off like most of this sort of thing as the surface preperation isn't good enough. I would recommend doing a hot dipped galvanised version.
