TeleZapper Works
Many years ago, when my wife and I did not have caller ID, we often answered the phone to find a telemarketer on the other end. We bought a home phone (and answering machine combo) that had the TeleZapper built in. From what I remember, it did amazingly well at cutting out the number of nuisance phone calls we received. But, eventually, we replaced our phones with a 2.4 ghz phone system for the convenience of having 4 receivers to place throughout the house and for improved reception. We also had caller ID by then and thought the Telezapper was unnecessary. We just wouldn't answer the phone if the number was 'Unknown' or 'Private'. However, over a month ago, we realized we were getting a ridiculous number of nuisance phone calls again. We would literally get a dozen or more calls a day, on most days, that were 'Unknown' or 'Private'. So, we bought this telezapper which was easy to connect between the wall jack and the phone and it has worked very well. It's been plugged in for one month (as of yesterday) and we get almost no calls now that are 'Unknown' or 'Private'. I would definitely recommend this product for two reasons. It will definitely decrease the number of annoying calls you receive but, because it's not 'built-in' (to a phone), you can change it's location in your house, change your phones without losing your Telezapper, or you could even change your home and still have the Telezapper.

TeleZapper TZ900
Mine doesn't work. Followed the directions, let it run for 18 months or so, no luck. Finally changed my phone number. New number was fine for 6 months then the dunning calls for "Kevin" began again. Follow up: Ah Ha! I installed a new battery (CR2032) and now it's sending its three audible tones. So, if you buy this, buy a fresh battery too! Update: Works Great! No more dunning phone calls for people I don't know! However, to tie it all together, I've also stopped answering my phone. I just respond to voice mail. No telemarketing or dunning calls for a month now! Hooray!

The product is nice, if you ever get it.
The TeleZapper works (I think) but the acquisition was a nightmare. I ordered it and received a confirming e-mail that indicated I ordered it and it was being shipped. The e-mail also had a suspected delivery date that turned out to be an absolute fabrication. I tried tracing the package and it just seemed to drop off the edge of the world. I ultimately received the device about a month later so I really can't tell you how well it works since it just recently was installed. It does not seem to work on political calls but, being political, these calls are probably being made by entities that have not called twice in the last 2 or 3 weeks and the device has not had an opportunity to scratch me from their database.

It REALLY Works!
We were getting dozens of telemarting calls everyday. This stops them by sending a disconnect signal to tell their computer phone dialing system your number is not there. They go on to the next one!You hook it up inline on a regular phone, or VOIP, and it makes a "signal" every time someone calls. It also makes the same "signal" when you pick up the phone. That can catch you by surprise. Sometimes, friends call and ask whaat the noise was but that is all it sounds like.I just got a call as I was reviewing this...the telemarketers call, they get the tone and hang up! No more wasted time with them. Even if you pick by accident, you still get the "signal" so if you thought it was someone else their computer will disconnect instead of putting you through to a rep b/c it heard the tone first!Very good product. Ours had a dead batttery, no big deal just went to Wal Mart.Get them before they run out! We do debt settlement and short sales and could not live without this!!! The banks just drive you nuts!! If you would like to hear what it sounds like dial 469-424-2066 and check it. If you need a short sale or debt settlement your dialing the right number anyway! Thanks!

I LOVE this thing!!
Works like a champ!! I'm having a lot of trouble with nonprofit groups calling to fundraise. Repeated calls to their membership offices yielded no relief and I hate to simply not give money to worthy causes in order to stop their dial-a-beggars. (I still will give money, but I had one group calling me eight times a day! Enough!!) What's worse is that a lot of these groups also raise money by selling the names and addresses of their donors to similar groups, so you really wind up getting a lot of calls.I got my TeleZapper for around $10, installed it four days ago, and believe me, it is already paying off. A dozen calls a day from the dreaded "toll free number" or "out of area" callers have now dwindled to nearly zero. I use caller ID with mine as well, so hopefully I'd be able to simply return a call from an organization I actually would want to speak to.I'm leaving off one star because my Zapper is LOUD - when you pick up the phone it emits those three tones that are at the beginning of most phone company "we're sorry, you have reached a number that has been disconnected" recordings, and if you're not careful to wait a second or two before putting it to your ear it'll blow your mind. There may be some way to turn it down, though. It'd be swell if you could simply press a switch to make it do its thing instead of having to listen to the tones on every call, but it's a small price to pay for freedom from incessant 800-number calls.I'll tell you this - I'll not be without one of these gizmos again. I couldn't find any other workable options - my phone company won't allow customers to block calls on an individual basis. Now I can read a book or watch a program without being interrupted by fundraisers. Thanks Telezapper! Let me know when you guys develop a program that'll get me off the mailing lists of all the solicitors, too...:)

Great experience from order to delivery. Highly recommended!
The Telezapper TZ 900 plugs into any phone or phone jack to \"zap\" many annoying computer-generated telemarketing calls. Just one Telezapper covers all phones and answering machines connected to that line. It won't interfere with manually dialed calls, or with answering machines, voicemail, caller ID, or call waiting.
When you or your answering machine picks up the phone, the Telezapper emits a special tone that fools the computer into thinking your number is disconnected. As your number is eliminated from more and more lists, those annoying computer-generated telemarketing calls just about stop altogether.
With the Telezapper, there are no monthly fees or service charges. It offers easy installation, compact design, and a one-year full warranty. Note that the Telezapper may also \"zap\" calls from other organizations that use predictive dialer computers, such as charities, pollsters, and emergency-announcement services.
