Oneida Easton Fine Flatware Dinner Forks, Set of 4, 18/10 Stainless Steel

I should have read the reviews for these before purchasing, but I already own a set that we’ve been using for nearly 30 years, so I figured I knew the product well enough to order a few more to replace the ones that have gone missing over the years. Like others, the first time I used one I thought there was a piece of dried food stuck to the back of the fork and was surprised to see the “O” stamped there instead. What a strange place to leave that mark! After comparing the new fork to an old one, my first thought was that these are knockoffs. They’re the slightest bit longer, the accent around the handle part is a little different, and the overall shape of the head of the fork is not quite the same as the original, not to mention that they’re also very shiny compared to my old ones. So are these fakes? I have no idea. Who’s to say that Oneida isn’t making them in Vietnam now and using a slightly different pattern. Even given all the differences, it’s not as noticeable as you would think when they’re all in the drawer together (can you spot the 3 new ones among my old ones?), and I doubt anyone will even notice. Does the OCD in me wish they were the same as my originals? Of course! But at least I won’t run out of forks as often as I used to, and that was the point.

I really don’t understand why Oneida changed this classic pattern. The angle of the fork head is different, the ring/accent below the tines is a different size, and the new ones “feature” a stamp on the back that is ugly and detracts from the appearance. Sad.

While these forks are nice, they do not match my Onieda flatware previously purchased from Onieda at Macy's. The markings are different, the weight is slightly different and the detail is different on the little ball detail - these are slightly flattened out. If your set matches these markings, they are very nice, but if not, I would order from Onieda if you are picky.

This flatware is what I chose 20 years ago when getting married. Still love this design! Needed a few extra pieces. Super excited to know it’s still available!
