Murad Eczema Control Daily Defense Colloidal Oatmeal Cream 1.7 FL OZ

I had a reaction from using a retinoid product that caused redness & stinging. I searched through a number of creams that could stop the reaction & heal my skin. I found a reference to Murad's Defense Cream with Colloidal Oatmeal & ordered it immediately knowing I could receive it quickly. As soon as I gently administered the cream, my skin felt cooler & the stinging stopped. I have never used Murad products before this but after experiencing the moisturizing & cooling effects, I am sold! My skin within days returned to normal & now feels softer & looks less dry. The cold creams that I already had did not have any immediate effect but Murad worked extremely well with my aging skin. It's now my nightly cream.

Like a miracle in a bottle, this stuff came along at the perfect time, right when I started to get a flare up around my mouth. I haven't had eczema in YEARS, but lucky me, it's back 🙄 Thankfully, this cream is a godsend for me personally. Well, kind of, because while it's one of the most effective eczema creams I've tried, it's also heinously expensive.The cream itself is DUMMY THICCCC (yes, with 4 C's) like, if you told me that they just put straight up oatmeal in this container, I might believe you. And the container itself is pretty neat as well, you push down and a measured amount of lotion comes out. I've never seen this dispensing method before, but it's pretty nice.Unlike many other heavy eczema creams, however, this one doesn't leave behind a greasy or oily feeling on my skin. I hate waking around looking like I've just covered my face in cooking grease, which is a real problem with some other brands.If this is in your budget and you struggle with eczema, I would highly recommend it.

The Murad Eczema Cream is virtually scent-free. I liked that aspect because, if you're already dealing with allergies, you don't want more issues from unnecessary strong scents! It comes in a dispenser where you push the disk and it releases a bit at a time. This is a nice feature so that you're not dipping your fingers into a container and potentially contaminating it with bacteria. It does moisturize, but isn't terribly greasy. I think the price seems a bit high, so I'm not sure I'd choose it again over the colloidal oatmeal products available in your typical box store.

I've been using this for several weeks twice a day as my final layer of skin care product and it's just ok for me. This is a thick cream that really dulls my skin after I've added my other products that usually leave my skin looking shiny and smooth. This really eliminates that shine and while my skin feels moisturized still, sort of, I actually think it feels less so after using this. In fact there is no way I would use this as my stand alone moisturizer. I mean it really is quite thick. This isn't so bad because I use several other products that add a lotnof moisture and shine to my face. Also the dispenser stopped working and I have to unscrew the lid off to get the product. It comes in a container that has a piece that you press down on to get the product to come out and I had never seen that before so when I took the lid off to look at the product, when I put the lid back on, the pump no longer works so now I just unscrew the jar and get the product out that way. Do I hate this product? No, not exactly, but it is my least favorite of the 8 skin care products that I use every day and definitely isn't worth the price to me. I will finish up the container but will not be ordering again.

My son has terrible eczema & this has been such a relief! Firstly, I honestly love the pump/ dispensing situation! This cream is super think & the fact its for faces is just what we needed. Im always nerveous to put cream on his face but this one is safe! No smell, no bad reaction. I do love MURADS products (and use a few for myself) but this item is great & has helped my little one!
