Great shoe, takes getting used to if you are new to BF
Follow the fitting template on their website, definitely does not fit like regular shoes if you have wide feet. The laces that come with it can cut into your foot a little bit if you do them too tight. If they fit right they don't go anywhere anyways with them gently laced. Love them and would recommend.

Great shoes, terrible laces
Pros: I really like these shoes. They they look great, are light, have a great barefoot ground feel, and our extremely breathable. The traction feels solid, as does the shoe.Cons: I'm really not sure what Vivobarefoot was thinking with these laces. The laces that come on the shoes are extremely thin, and ribbed. The ribbing prevents the laces from properly moving and makes it hard to get a comfortable, tight fit. The narrow diameter causes them to cut into my feet when tightened enough to make the shoe feel secure. I almost returned the shoes because of the laces. I ended up swapping the laces with a thicker no-tie elastic lace (see photo). It makes the shoes much more comfortable, and the elastic nature adjusts with movement so they don't cut into me.Also: I wish they had half sizes, because the pair I have are slightly longer than I would prefer but the next size down jams my toes.

look good but don't last long
vivobarefoot shoes look nice but are cheaply made and don't last long. this pair, like all our other pairs we've bought (more than 15 pairs) don't last as long as they should for the price. the only good point about them compared to other barefoot style shoe brands is the looks. we've kind of given up on this brand. they have improved over the years but they still don't last very long. we will look for a different brand.

Perfect minimal shoe
Probably the best minimal shoe I’ve ever had.. but not too minimal with the trail grip. Incredible toe box, beyond compare to any other shoe imo. High quality materials. Ventilated but not cold. Very satisfied and will be looking to vivo again!

Very satisfied with this product
Relevant information about me: These are my first pair of minimalist shoes so I don't know how they compare. In warmer months (anything above 50 F) I exclusively go barefooted around the house/yard/ driving/even nature walks, and thin flip flops when I go out to stores so I'm perhaps a little aquatinted with being minimally shod. I live in Michigan so I need something to put on my feet in the winter but I wanted something that wouldn't feel out of place in the summer. I place a high value on versatility in the products I purchase. I also believe the human body was purposefully designed to live in this world and functions best (healthiest) under pressure (work) with balance and periods of rest. So I believe the products and companies we support should reflect that, avoiding extremes and pushing for too much comfort (comfort insulates us from reality and makes us fragile as we won't know how to cope with discomfort). All that said I've been learning more and more about foot health and the benefits of allowing our feet function. Our feet are foundational to the rest of our skeletal system and if they aren't functioning well, our body will do what it does so well and compensate in some way further up our body but ultimately alarming us to a problem through pain.About these shoes: Yes they are kind of expensive but as with everything you have to consider more than just the price, you need to consider that value. If you're still reading this, take a moment out of your busy life and read the "about" section on vivobarefoots website. Look at their values as a company because that is part of the value of this potential investment. Cheap goods usually = slave labor. The comfort of 1st world living insulates us from this reality. Good, well made and thought out products take time and effort to produce. especially from smaller companies. These shoes appear well constructed, well designed by people who care about people. They really do give a mostly uninsulated feeling of barefeet while offering some protection from the elements. They are fairly priced to reflect their value. The lugs on the bottom provide ample grip in snowy/slushy conditions. They're not water proof but I'm not so sure it's good for feet to be buried in something impermeable for long. If your feet get wet from either a puddle or sweat, dry them out! them them breathe! That's basic foot care really. The laces seem strange at first but I actually like them now. I can slip my foot in without cinching it down, and use these like a slipper if I'm taking the garbage out for example and there's not dangly laces in my way. When I do cinch it down I just tuck the excess under the laces up front, works well. I followed the sizing guide from their website to a T and the result is perfect. Just the right size! If between size err on the side of sizing up. My toe ended up 5mm from the next size up (size 10) but the guide says add 6-14mm for your size up, putting me into size 11. The guide also says if you have narrower feet, try sizing back so I went with size 10 and I'm glad I did.I'm super satisfied with this product so far. We'll have to see how it holds up over time but based on how it feels at the joints and critical area, as well as other review online, I'm optimistic I'll get at least a couple solid years of use out of it.
