The BDS War Against Israel: The Orwellian Campaign to Destroy Israel Through the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement Paperback – January 1, 2014

"The BDS War Against Israel" opens with a quote from Mao Zedong. "A lie repeated a hundred times becomes the truth". The BDS movement is a powerful movement of disinformation repeating a lie a thousand times. This toxic lie is now echoed in many major universities and is the new politically chic position. Intelligent people must take the time to find the truth and have the courage to stand for their convictions; not an easy task, my friends.This book succinctly lays to rest any and all anti-Israeli arguments disguised as anti-Zionism. The seductive vehicle for anti-seminitsm and ultimately, the destruction of Israel, gained its main roots as a product of UN Conference in Tehran in 2001. Before the conference began, NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations-see book for more detailed explanation) had a pre conference meeting was held in Tehran. Israeli organizations were deliberately excluded. Australia and New Zealand, supporters of Israel, were not allowed to participate. They were blocked by the Organization of Islamic Conference. Needless to say the outcome was a foregone conclusion. This elegant little book tackles the chic arguments of the day, with hard cold facts and sources quickly dispatching with the BDS myth.To take just one, for example: BDS supporters routinely accuse Israel of being an Apartheid state. From the book, South African Judge Richard Goldstone, led a U.N. Human Rights Commission to investigate allegations of war crimes committed by Israelis.Goldstone concluded: "In Israel, there is no apartheid. Nothing there comes close to the definition of apartheid under the 1998 Rome Statue: 'Inhumane acts...committed in the contact of an institutionalized regime of systematic oppression and domination by one racial group over any other racial group...' Israeli Arabs-20% of Israel's population-vote, have political parties and representatives in the Knesset and occupy positions of acclaim, including on its Supreme Court. Arab patients lie alongside Jewish patients in Israeli hospitals, receiving identical treatments." As the authors of the book add, "To say that Israel is an 'apartheid' country is not only a lie, but a clumsy one. The facts are so clear that any examination of them immediately reveals the falsehood."This book is a rich, well-researched, well supported document. Read it yourself; look at the bibliography, the sources and the credentials of the authors. Get the facts, and reach your own conclusion - based on documented fact and not disinformation. Sadly, though, that will not be sufficient. The disinformation must be exposed at every opportunity and the truth argued each and every single time a falsity is put forth as fact. "BDS War Against Israel" will give you data you need to overcome this powerful propaganda war. I urge everyone to read it. Particularly Jewish people (who have an even greater obligation to get this right!) who have been subject to this disinformation movement and do not themselves have all data, consequently feeding the propaganda machine (and ultimately, their own destruction).

Twice this year I have come across a remarkable book of fewer than 90 pages. The first was Willliam Styron's intimate and compelling "Darkness Visible: A Memoir of Madness" (1990). And now this one.Modern Israel has existed in a state of siege for its entire 66 year history, but now it is confronted by a more subtle enemy action: the economic boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement initiated by "Palestinian civil society" (read: the PLO, the unlamented Yasser Arafat's personal playground and cash cow) to "hold Israel accountable for its collective punishment of Palestinians" (I quote from BDSmovement.net.) Perhaps we should not be surprised that the movement has sold its bill of goods to a motley assortment of do-gooders, theo-leftists, and meddlesome nincompoops, including the Presbyterian Church USA and 22 other well-financed NGOs. The genetically handicapped descendants of the "fellow travelers" of the Cold War are with us still, although I very much prefer the inspired phrase coined by that world-renowned syphilitic, Vladimir Ulyanov (aka Lenin): "useful idiots." Now their goal is the economic isolation and, ultimately, strangulation of Israel -- all of course with the goal of furthering the "peace process," promoting democracy, ending "apartheid" (here I quote Jimmy Carter, the most annoying ex-president in history), and making everybody participating in the process feel real good about themselves. The mindless mantra of John Lennon (no relation to Vladimir) comes to mind: "All we are saying is give peace a chance." Unless the BDS movement succeeds, "Israel will commit genocide against the Palestinians" and "has committed war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza since 2007" -- according to Omar Barghouti, the principal spokesman and writer for the BDS movement.Yes -- dat ol' debbil Israel, where Arabs and Jews sit on buses and in the Knesset together; the only Democracy in the region; a free people surrounded by destitute, desperate, and oppressed populations ruled by unstable totalitarian hate-mongers; a nation that cannot be broken militarily, so economic warfare under the guise of humanitarian goals are promoted by those whose only real purpose is Israel's total destruction.The authors call this campaign "Orwellian" and so it is. The dictionary of political discourse is now twisted and deformed by an informal Ministry of Truth to suit the agendas of the lexicographers. Republicans are engaged in a war against women because flakes like Sandra Fluke might have to pay for their own abortifacients; the Supreme Court is determined to crush organized labor because the ISEU can no longer extort union dues from family members who care for their own at home, without pay; and the Clintons were "dead broke" when they vacated the White House.As George Orwell himself said in one of his neglected reflections: "During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act." The authors have set the record straight, and told the truth.
