Household Essentials Victorian Style Decorative Trunk in Chinese Fir Wood with Metal Accents, Natural, Set of 2

We use these for shoe storage. My feral children have a hard time keeping up with shoes and putting away in bedroom. Our compromise was to put by the door. Now they can find shoes. They are pretty, smell like cedar, and can be closed. This has shaved off literal minutes in our getting out the door in the mornings.

These are really light weight and look nice, but not the most sturdy. I paid roughly $100 marked down from $300, and would've been pretty upset if I had paid the higher price. For the cost they're ok. The black "metal" bands/trim are actually laminated wood strips (otherwise I would've given 4 stars) and one was chipped but I was able to use a black Sharpie to color it in. The only metal seems to be the hinges, side rings (which are purely decorative - don't try to life them by those!) and the decorative studs on the trim pieces. Again, for the price they are ok just not overly sturdy. I wouldn't store anything heavy in them as the bottoms will probably give out.

They are built med weight not bad looking. Very complimentary to my room and very useful! Very good deal.

Boxes were both damaged, specially the large one, the lid was broken and chipped, the left front edge was loose. Small box was chipped. They were heavy to carry to return.

These trunks are perfect for a decoration prop. They are not super sturdy, but offer a good ambiance and style. The first set was broken and damaged inside, but the replacement set was in fine condition. There are small bits with the paint rubbed off, but overall they are in good condition without broken parts, splintered wood or separated sides. They need a bit of care, since they are lightweight wood an meant for decoration more than functionality. You could store things in them, and am not sure about daily use. Overall 2 trunks for the sale price is good. Nice look.

Very light, which is good for my needs. Smaller chest in the set arrived fine, but the larger chest was badly damaged (see photos).

The trunks arrived broken, I reached out to their customer service number several times to ask for replacement hardware, left messages, and never heard back. This doesn’t account for the several additional scuffs to the wood. Made of plywood and see through cracks in several spots. It’s cheap and not worth it, especially when you can’t count on their customer service team to follow up with your concerns.
