Like many others, my introduction to pyrography was via a cheap tool that brought only frustration despite the multitude of tips, stencils and so on.By contrast, this unit has opened my eyes to what can actually be achieved when you're not hampered by the technology. Featuring a reassuringly sturdy, heavy and slightly retro control unit, Peter Child's machine is the real deal.The temperature control is basic but an absolute godsend.The stylus itself is comfortable to hold and intuitive to use, and unlike with my previous machine the plastic housing stays cool no matter how close to the business end you grip it.Best of all, the shaped wire tips allow for very fine work and very rapid heating and cooling, so you're not losing your inspiration while sitting around waiting for the temperature you want.I highly recommend that you don't waste your money on cheap alternatives - that's false economy, and unless you've more staying power than me your enthusiasm will soon wane. Splash out a little more on one of these units and unleash your creativity - It's well worth the investment!

Having gone through a couple of cheap soldering iron/pyrography machines I decided it was time to invest in a purpose built kit.I've really taken to pyrography but been frustrated with the lack of power and poorly designed pens of cheap models.After some research I settled on the Peter Child model it has excellent reviews particularly focusing on the build quality, which I can confirm absolutely.I have done numerous projects and the pen has performed faultlessly it has excellent temperature control enabling a good variety of shading and the pen is beyond comfortable I used it for an hour recently and it never got anywhere close to being to hot to hold. Excellent cable lengths as well giving plenty of scope for positioning.All in all well worth the money a good, solid piece of kit well thought out if you enjoy your burning look no further.

This thing is the dogs doo dahs. You pay for what you get with pyrography units and this one is absolutely the business. You pay for the quality admittedly, but, it's so well worth it that you'll wish you'd have purchased this from the get go. It's an amazing unit, temp control is so accurate it's a dream to use. Don't buy a cheap and nasty one when this one is the perfect device for all pyrographers.

I can not praise this machine enough, nice solid bit of kit, previously had a cheap machine to see if I got on with pyrography which served me well for about 10 months, but the ease of use has taken my pieces to a whole new level, I can burn for hours with no heat in the pen at all.Love how solid it is, the slip pen makes it easy to use and changing tips takes seconds. 10 out of 10.

After using a basic pyrograph for a little while now, I bit the bullet and bought myself this new one. OMG!! Never looking back, temperature control is amazing and us VERY reactive!I like a really thin tip to get alot of fine detail, and this definitely delivers! Extra wire is provided to create your own tips, using a small hammer you can flatten the tip to create a spoon end for shading. Tips really simple to change, the wire is simply clamped in with 2 screws.Honestly can't rave about this product more. Love love love...

prior to purchasing this product, I was using the pyrography pen from Hobbycraft for £10. I’d use it for 6 hours straight to make one Memory box and it would stop working.This product is amazing. It’s cut down my working time by at least 50% and the output is so much better!!It is well worth the money spent. Recommend purchasing a smoke extractor fan to use along side this as more smoke is generated.
