Simply peel a StressGemsTM dot off the strip when you are ready to use it and place the liquid crystal dot on the fleshy part of the joint between the first finger and thumb on the back of the hand. The inside of the wrist can also provide an effective reading. Although these dots will not help you directly manage stress their instant feedback makes you aware that you maybe entering a stressful period and that in itself should help you deal with stress. Imagine a peaceful relaxed setting and observe the dot to see if you can become aware of your stress levels. Medical research has proved that changes from a state of relaxation to one of stress, can be measured by changes in skin temperature, within temperature ranges of 82F to 2F. Stress GemsTM have been manufactured to be as accurate as a liquid crystal trend thermometer. When you are stressed your capillaries constrict, reducing the flow of blood to the surface of the skin and the temperature of your hands and feet decreases. That's why your hands feel cold right before a job interview, or when you are about to get up and give a speech. Similarly as you relax, your hands and feet become warmer and blood flows more freely. With care they can be replaced back onto the strip when finished. Room temperatures of 18 and 21°C provide the most accurate reading. Let your hands warm up first if they have become cold outside.
