Ramp up the lux!
Many modern energy saving bulbs do not provide enough light for intricate work/hobbies, so I thought I'd add this in order to use more bulbs. It is amazing - it fits in my regular lampshade and almost looks like I have a drone in there! Great product.

Decent quality
Surprised by the decent quality of this. Slightly unnerved by the bare metal connection between fitting but assume that's the neutral and hence no voltage on it. Works fine.

which is better than nothing
It works, but has an interesting attitude to safety. The current is carried to the bulb holders by a wire one way, and an aluminium strip for the other path. This would be acceptable if the product went into a screw bulb holder (as the outer screw of those should be neutral, and the inner contact live), but in a bayonet cap there's no polarity of the contacts - either of them could be live, depending on how the bulb is fitted. This means that there's a 50-50 chance you'll have bare conductors on the top that are at 240V, which is unacceptable. The aluminium conductors are beneath the wire for the other contact (see attached picture), which is better than nothing, but they're still too exposed. I've put some electrical tape over the channels that the wires run in, to try and prevent accidents, although this isn't a truly acceptable solution - both conductors should be insulated wires to avoid electric shocks. The ends of the aluminium conductors are pressed against the screw part of the bulbholders, which is probably acceptable for light loads (LED bulbs) but may introduce too much resistance to run incandescent bulbs safely (especially as I doubt the fire resistance of the plastic this is made from). In addition, as the polarity of the bulb holders is not guaranteed to match the expected polarity of an screw socket, any exposed metalwork on the bulbs may be live at 240V.The product has the RoHS marking, which is probably compliant as there's only plastic, aluminium and some wire in the product. The product also carries the CE marking, however this is almost certainly fraudulent due to the high risk of electric shock present.Mine works, and I'm using it, but I wouldn't recommend buying one.

This has been a great replacement for the old garage bulb (which never lasted long). Now I use four energy saving bulbs equal to 300w altogether which illuminates the garage well.

Good converter/splitter
Decent product works well, except most B22 fixtures are 60w max, so you can only have 4 x 15w bulbs on there, or simply put 1 65W bulb on your light pendant for a similar effect
