After using bluetooth obd readers for years, I have been looking at upgrading to a stand alone bi directional machine for years and I'm glad I did! First off it picks up codes from vehicles that have never worked with bluetooth/phone diagnostics such as my vw t5 4motion. Being able to reset service lights after oil change has been nice as a couple of my vehicles will not reset using a sequence in the car. The biggest advantage is the Bi directional control. You can use it to check actuators etc as well as replace certain modules which need recoding. Where most phone based readers will only read engine fault codes, this will read all modules on the vehicle. Another feature which has come in great help when diagnosing a running issue with my Impreza was the data logging. As I wasn't sure if it was the maf, lambda or vacuum leak causing the high fuel trims, having it log a couple of drives managed to eliminate sensor issues (as the high and low values were correct looking at other factors such as throttle position etc) without replacing parts and hoping for the best After owning this just over a week, I feel I've only scraped the surface on what this is capable of It comes in a decent case with adaptors for other vehicles. The tablet seems very well built with a rubberised case which seems like it would help in a workshop environment.

I purchased this product as I’ve always got the cheaper versions and found it was time to invest. Usually I would look towards bigger brands but after my research I realised that wasn’t necessary. This device does everything If not more than it’s competitors. Constant updating and more features being uploaded to give you more for your money. The system is quick and efficient and does not let you down. After using a cheap one this doesn’t even compare. Full vehicle Heath check. Codes explained clearly and easy to use. Ideal for personal or professional business use. Overall a great diagnostic machine and I can only see it improving as they develop more for it!

The product itself is really good in terms of functionality and for the price would be a 5* review. Aside from the bidirectional controls what I really like is the workshop instructions for how to perform a repair or task when there is not a digital option for performing maintenance. However after 3 uses one of the pins snapped off the port for the obd2 connection rendering the device useless. I have contacted topdon support and if they address the defective item to the same standards that they have built the software I'll update this review accordingly.

This review is more about Amazon who sent me a return. They didnt even bother to check it before sending it to me. So, i bought the Artidiag Pro on 15 April, receive it next day on 16 April an used item, with a scratched screen and a missing charger. It was activated on 7 April and i bought it on 15 April (see pictures). It was obvious someone use it on a few cars (see pictures with history). Returned asap and bought another one (Phoenix Plus this time) from another place. Before the return i tryed the Artidiag Pro on my car. Unfortunately was unable to perform a DPF regen on my 2017 Mercedesc C Class C220 diesel and other special functions didnt work at all. You can check on the topdon official website which functions will work with your car. I recommend the Phoenix series. The Topdon support is excelent and they have good products.

Easy to use...as boy you can do amost anything with this.... From testing turbo to checkin actuator... Injectors...you name it its there... I work mostly with mercedes and bmw and this is the real deal... Cutting my time to identify issue by half and customers are super happy.... Its a beast of a tool... I used it in cars never then 2012 and so far had no issue.... To auto identification is not working on all cars but can easy choose model from the menu.... I am happy camper...and the money spend are already recovered by this beast.... Thumbs up from me .. A++++

Got this for my dad who loves fixing things. With average independent mechanic rates at £60 per hour and franchised dealers up to 4x that it makes sense to fix as much as you can yourself. But cars are becoming more complex and you now need decent scan tools to change a battery properly or to retract the rear brakes . There are loads of options on the market but I had heard good things about Topdon. He has wanted one for a while. This scanner is at the top end of the pricing for diy eqpt but has a massive range of features that will more than cope with the most demanding DIY person. Battery replacements, brakes, dpf regeneration, module coding as well as bidirectional controls to name but a few. It also comes with 2 year software updates for free. You can buy cheaper scanners but the last thing you want is for it to not be able to do the test that you need, or read the code that you want when you are in the middle of trying to fix something. In box is a solid case, great for storage but also protective of the device itself. It also holds all of the accessories, loads of connectors for different vehicles as well as a charger, cable and instruction manual - see the video attached. The unit itself has a very ergonomic feel to it.They have obviously thought about it as it also includes a pull-out stand and this can be used stand up on the seat or to hold it around steering wheels when in use giving free use of your two hands. Attached are some screenshots from an Audi SQ5 and a Ford ST. The system does a full automatic diagnostic and you can email once completed. Very professional if you are charging for your services. As I said in the title, it is absolutely stupid to not spend enough on tools. There are cheaper scanners about but I doubt that they will have the features of this one as well as 2 years of free software updates. I think if you bought this you would not be disappointed.
