Gimbal's Licorice Scottie Dogs, 11.5 oz (SUGAR)

Loved black licorice and these are great!

I loved Black Diamond Hard Licorice Buttons, but apparently they're discontinued (thanks, Hershey).While trying to track them down, some other Black Diamond licorice lover mentioned that these Scottie Dogs, while not an exact match, came pretty close. So I ordered one package to try them out.They are very very very good. They're a little softer than the Black Diamond buttons I miss so much, but the flavor is pretty close.I enjoyed the first bag so much, I just ordered another few packets. They are expensive, but I really like the flavor.

The Scottie Dog Licorice gummies are a delightful change for the average licorice lover. Their taste is so true to REAL LICORICE. I find myself hiding these special treats so others won’t love them as much as I do. Although i’m Soooooo-proud to be the owner of the Scottie Dogs, I have small packets as gifts for Christmas this year. When I was asked where I got them, I said they were specifically made for me to give them to my loved ones for Christmas. They were impressed about my connections to the makers of this fine treat. Thank you for their creation and for their fine taste.

I found a bag of these at Ollies (a discount retailer) and bought them. They were so good I went back and bought out the rest. Then I came here and bought this big bag. This is a good deal, and if you're not too much of a pig (no promises!) it will last you for some time. This is just great licorice.

I love this Licorice, didn't see that they made red as well so I'll be ordering both next time and hope that the red is as good as the black is. I didn't give it 5 stars cuz I thought it was a bit pricey but then I don't know all that's involved in making it so that may not be fair on my part. Anyway, it's hard to find a great licorice that doesn't have flour in it so I was happy to come across these Scottie Dogs

I also ordered Gimbals Red gluten free Scottie Dogs and got some other brand and I’m not sure if they are gluten free, they are not as good as Gimbals brand ( see picture) not at all satisfied with these. The black Scotties are awesome as usual.

We use these for decorating a gingerbread house. But for those of us who like black licorice ..yummy!:

If you like the taste of black licorice, you can't go wrong here. I like the texture, not too sticky or soft, just right. The only other brand I like is Wiley Wallaby. Softer licorice but really good.
