Fantastic product
It's even better than what I had in mind when I decided to look for keyring pens. I'm the sort who likes to keep as many useful things at hand as possible, so this is really perfect for me. Still haven't figured out how to open it to put in the three free ink refills, but I don't need to right now - the one I have is doing its job just fine. The pen is quite secure in its place on the keyring, and I'm sure it's not going to fall out and get lost on its own accord. It comes with black ink, which is great, since I'm not big on blue ink. It can extend to twice its folded length - that is, 2" to 4". One of my key worries with the product was its durability. However, I've found that it's perfectly strong enough to withstand the stress it may encounter in everyday life. Folded, the thickness of its shell is great enough that bending it would be no easy task. Even when extended, it feels quite robust, being made from stainless steel, and it's probably under the protection of your hand in that case anyway.Overall, it's a great little thing to have on your keyring. Worth the money. You can lose it if you happen to accidentally drop it whilst it's detached, of course, but the product itself is fine.

Very good.
I bought this item because i was fed up of looking around for a pen when i needed one most. its a brilliant idea and because its so small , it looks like a normal keyring. most people are impressed when they find out that its a pen. I would recommend this :) .

Not great because...
Original review - THIS IS LITERALLY THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER BOUGHT! Just buy it. So useful, fallen off a couple of times but almost all the time it's fine.Updated - reviewI used to think think this was quite good, and it was fine until I found a better version. So there seems to be a very good version of this that you can buy in shops, where it opens from the bottom rather from the top. I can't seem to find the better version online anywhere, but it is basically like the true utility stylus version, but without the stylus. I'm going to email true utility to see where I can get the other version.

Indispensable until you lose them
After losing four of these in the past four years, I think it's sadly time to conclude that they don't really serve their purpose. The cap clicks on and off, and after using the pen for long enough or so the grip gets weaker and eventually it'll be loose enough to fall off your keyring without you realising. And if you're keeping your keys in a pocket, you'll probably lose the pen at that point without even noticing. This still seems to be the smallest, easiest-to-carry pen on the market, and if you don't mind keeping a fresh backup around for when you lose the first one, it's a great way to always take it for granted that you'll have a pen on you. I've since given up on storing them on my keyring and just keep one retracted (with no cap) along a corner seam of my wallet, which isn't ideal, but it's the best I've managed.

BRILLIANT, Fast Delivery - Other Reviews Misleading
I bought this product because I work at a cinema and pens are always going missing. This is a great idea for me to attach to the belt loop on my trousers and I will have a discrete pen with me where ever I go in the cinema. Without it feeling uncomfortable in my pockets or being with out a pen completely.Comes with 3 additional refill 'cartridges' that seem like the normal insides of a biro but miniature. It may be possible to make your own refills. Not sure if you can buy refills for this product on Amazon.Oddly enough it came presented in a splash box. I think this might be because the supplier had a lot of these in stock and had to find a way to put it to good use.I ordered this at 4AM 16th JAN and it had arrived the next day by mid-day even though I selected Free Delivery. Kudos!Other reviews made me anxious about spending this amount on this pen for fear of it falling off. This fear was unfounded. The pen fits snuggly into its 'clasp'. I really would reccommend this product to my friends. ^_^

Doesn't work so well in pockets!
The pen itself is quite dandy and I love the telescopic function; unfortunately, it comes out of the lid very easily. I've actually lost mine because of this. I got sick of it just coming off in my pocket (I work in a store environment so I am moving around a lot and kneeling down to stock shelves, etc) so I just gave up entirely. Our store always had a shortage of pens and this would've been the ideal solution on my car keyring if the pen stayed on properly. I suppose a more rounded design would be less susceptible to damage, too.

good idea
A very good concept, easy to add to keys, like these wee handy type things, particularly when traveling. It does come with spare ink tabs, that you stick inside. It really is the 007 of pens, just make sure to get it back if someone borrows it.<b<Update</b>: After much occasional use over an extended amount of time (since date of 1st purchase), have found this item to be of excellent quality and very durabe. Have not yet needed to to change or replace any ink as of yet. The telescopic mechanism remains steadfast. As this item is very small ,it's best to take good care of it so that it won't ever get lost. Thus it's probably worth tethering onto a lanyard or key-ring by string so that it doesn't get out of sight. I.e. (Repeat) Don't ever lend to anyone. Imagine in 50% of cases whereby you'd lend a pen to someone that may not return it by accident, normal distraction or otherwise.

Handy Pen
Would have got 5 stars but the final telescopic section was very difficult to open. Finally managed with a firm pull with a pair of pliers, pen works well and comes wiyh 3 spare refills.
