Panasonic D cell Zinc Carbon Single Use Batteries 4 Batteries (2x2 Packs)

Purchased because needed specifically Zn-C batteries.It's Zn-C batteries ... for the majority of common use, alkaline are better in terms of battery life and longevity: Zn-C batteries have the bad habit to discharge more quickly by themselves, for instance.Apart from this, good value for money. And Panasonic have built these forever.

I bought these to power an outdoor lamp which stopped lighting up after a year (although, since it's light sensitive it barely got use over the summer so they may not have lasted as long). I took 3 of the same batteries out of the lamp and one of them had started to ooze brown goo. It may not have dealt with the temperature ranges I guess.

I put them in my torch, pressed the button, it lit up, happy days, it still can’t make me a cuppa yet though.

Great value compared to high street prices. Good long best before date.

Felt a little tired so I decided to buy these to give me a little boost throughout the day x work bloody lovely just shove it there and it’s bloody lush xx

I bought these to use in a light with sensor in the cupboard under the stairs, it comes on at night when the cupboard door is opened, they have lasted less than a fortnight, so I can't recommend them at all.

I think that maybe these batteries are better suited for specific applications. On the side of the battery it does state: "FOR LOW POWER PRODUCTS".In an outdoor motion sensor security light (takes all 4 batteries) these lasted just 2 months. In the past, regular "super alkaline long life" batteries from the supermarket (which were also cheaper) have lasted well over a year in the same device. So, on that basis, these were a poor choice!FWIW it states "Zinc Chloride" on the side of the battery itself ("Zinc Carbon" on the packaging).
