I don't think you can find a better case for the Surface Book 3. When you disconnect the screen from the keyboard, the case has a cover for the screen just like a tablet and I'd like to point out, this case is tailor made and fits this computer like a glove. You can't go wrong if you purchase this case. you will love it. And no I am not being paid to say this. I am just really happy with this case and well worth the cost.

Black one PLU leather is better quality than the other assorted colors.

The cover overall is nice, the fit is a little off but works. You can charge with the case from either side aft or forward cable. Note some other don't allow the natural aft position. The base portion partially covers the mousepad, not an issue for me as I typically don't use one. The benefit of that is it protects the screen from the sharp points on the base that has been known to damage the SurfaceBook screen if closed to suddenly. Will see how it will hold up not sure about PU leather, gave it a 4 star based on the price. Would have given 5 stars on initial impression if the price point were around $50.00.

The magnet feet didn’t stay in place. They are also too far forward so that when the screens is opened any further than 90 degrees the entire laptop falls backward.

This surface book cover sure does look heavy duty and I was super excited. It was a tad awkward to get it on properly. It felt super heavy duty but something was always a little off. Unfortunately, I did drop my laptop from my lap to my carpeted living room floor and this heavy duty case did not prevent the glass on my only five months old surface book from cracking. Super disappointed! I can only imagine if I had dropped it from a higher point on to tile or somewhere else. Sometime later the elastic band that holds the base to the surface book snapped as well so now there is just an awkward loose part. My challenge is finding another one that is the same size for the series I have. All of this occurred just after the return period had ended of course.

This product is well-designed and beautifully executed. It has a stylus holder to the side of the screen, and the flap can be set up behind the screen to hold it in place while drawing. If you enjoy taking advantage of the stylus to whiteboard, and prefer doing it without detaching the tablet, it is a life-saver! I would normally hold the top of the screen with one hand, while drawing with the other. This works great for whiteboarding in remote meetings, but it's awkward. Now I just draw in comfort with my screen supported.The quality of the leather and the stitching is very nice. All ports are accessible, and the trim around the bottom does not cover the trackpad on my Surface Book 3. The trim around the screen does not overlap with any visible part of the display. The camera at the top is not covered, nor the rear-facing camera on the back.The tablet detaches with its cover, and as shown in product pictures, the flap can be used to cover the screen. The same flap that holds my screen up for drawing can be folded to tilt the keyboard up toward you. I didn't think it would be that useful, but it does make a difference while typing for a long time.[EDIT] Unfortunately, this feature turned out to be a miss. Not stable enough. I loved it, but I had to tinker with it constantly as any movement caused the setup to flatten. Too bad, I am hoping the designer will adjust something to make it stable. Not updating the stars - still love the setup.Super-powerful setup if you do remote work!

I honestly didn’t know whether I would like this case or not. It seemed likely that it was a low quality Chinese knock-off. But, frankly, there weren’t many options to choose from for the 15” surface book. I wanted a case that would protect both the keyboard section as well as the tablet portion, but still allow the tablet part to disconnect easily.This case does that and more. It also doubles as a handy folio case to cover the screen when disconnected in tablet mode. And, the screen cover potion can be used to prop up the tablet—a useful feature since the surface book doesn’t have a kickstand.I have been pleasantly surprised with how well designed this case is and how good the quality of materials are. The leather in the case looks and feels very nice, and doesn’t add much bulk or weight to the device. It makes it easier to hold and gives a little scratch protection and probably some drop protection as well (though I don’t intend to test that theory…). All of the ports are easily accessible, and the surface pen still magnetically attaches to the tablet through the leather case. As an extra bonus, the leather cover on the keyboard section covers the edges of the keyboard bottom so that the metal doesn’t dig into your wrists when typing.I use my surface book a lot at my desk, and this cover doesn’t get in the way. But, I also frequently use it in tablet mode for reading and when giving presentations and preaching, and I LOVE having the folio cover to protect the tablet and screen when using it as a tablet. (Plus, when preaching its much less conspicuous and distracting in the folio case than without the case.)I fully expected this case to be a 3/5 star case, but I couldn’t find anything better. But, I’ve been shocked the quality of materials and design, so I’m giving this 5 stars.
