Kryptonite Kryptolok Standard Bicycle U-Lock w/4-foot Flex Cable

I recently bought a nice road bike and wanted to spend a good amount on a good lock to keep it safe. With this lock it gives you great peace of mind. The mount is extremely easy to set up and the lock clips into it easily, it stays there really well and doesn't rattle around when cycling. The lock itself is rather big though, so I struggled to find a place to put it as I also have two water bottle holders attached to my bike. I've done it though but when the lock is attached, I can't have any water - hey ho, the bike is safe.The additional cable is great too for securing your front tyre so that doesn't get stolen either.Comes with two keys.Would recommend this lock to anyone really. It's very well put together, feels sturdy and well made.

Honestly I've never used a D lock before, and I'd be lying if I said I've enjoyed it so far. I've been using this for about two weeks, and I'll probably come back again to re-write this review later after getting used to it. I won't talk about how easy it is to use, other than that though it's all good.The lock feels sturdy and feels like if you swung it, someone would definitely get hurt (I'm not testing it's durability, I don't have the tools for that). It's small enough to fit in a small bag and any normal sized back pack, HOWEVER the bike attachment it comes with does not allow it to fit on my bike at all, without becoming a hindrance, other than that it is highly portable. I'll also have to be honest and say that this thing is heavy, dropping this thing on your foot will not be a nice experience. The lock it self is big enough that you could lock a bike up in a variety of ways... As long as your bike doesn't leave even an inch of space, yes it's small and no I can't put it on quickly. I've also had the locking mechanism feel a bit 'sluggish' or 'jittery' when locking or unlocking, do make sure to pull the key STRAIGHT out. Other than that this lock is great, 9/10

I already have 2 of these so know what they areThis is not the highest security level you can get but it should be a good enough deterrent - its really for leaving a bike in a visible public place for not too long a durationThis model has a different design of the shackle to my older models - it now moves the lock mechanism onto each end of the U - my other earlier models only locked on one end. Not sure if this is an improvement or not - but it feels like it should beThe cable is long enough to use around either the front or rear when but probably not both at the same time - so you put the shackle round the frame and a robust bar to lock the bike and use the cable to secure the wheelsWe aren't using the mounting bracket - the lock is carried in a small rucksack so can't comment on the effectiveness or convenience of the bracket

Looks strong and solid and pleased with the purchase. I hope it will protect my bike long enough to stop any thief while I pop into a shop or have a cup of coffee where I can see the bike. Easy to use.
