The book was a very quick read. The material was not very useful for an adult. It may work to draw the interest of an adolescent into blades. The author asks many times in the book for a review on Amazon, I'm not sure he realizes how poor the quality of this book it. The description implies two books, it is one book with two sections. About two hours of total read time. Very disappointedDO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

There is no other way to state it but I was very disappointed in this book.First of all the book is the size of a pocket novel but with the text size of a children's book. There is not a single picture or illustration in the entire book. This lack of visual info (a picture is a thousand words) is not compensated for by descriptive text.Frankly I doubt you could make a knife using only this book if you had never made one before.You will learn more from a 10 minute YouTube video than from reading this book.

I'd give this a zero if I could. Wes may know something about bladesmithing, but he doesn't know s%$# about writing a book to instruct someone how to do it. He states WHAT to do, but NOTHING about HOW to actually do it. The book is extremely brief, absurdly non-specific, and there is not a single picture nor diagram in it. A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY, IF YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW HOW TO MAKE A KNIFE.

This book is okay.

The information is not sufficient about metals, forging them, using the right temperature, of how to forge them and what to use to do so. Also the information of using certain temperature on those metals which are mentioned in this book is wrong too.
