Small learning curve to understand what each mode does and what it's useful for. This might be quicker if you pair the phone app with it, but I didn't bother with that as I enjoy the escape of the manual aspect of espresso making, and I didn't want yet another app/smart screen to look at. Learning the functionality of the 2 onboard touch buttons pays dividends once you've got it into your espresso work flow. It's a lot of money, sure, but good equipment always is and there is always an aspect of diminishing returns with the higher end stuff - I definitely wouldn't say it's "expensive" though, as for quality and performance it definitely delivers - it's seamless. You can get cheaper scales, but you will always learn why they are cheaper once you start using them and appreciate the frustrations that come with them. It's responsive with very low latency and accurate. I single dose my beans for the day into test tubes using the standard weighing mode, then switch to auto-tare/auto timer start when it detects the cup placement when about to start extraction. Had it a couple of months now and I never make an espresso without it.

I like the coffee scale overall however, I think that it has too many functions I personally don't need a flow meter and I feel that the additional functions should be more easily accessible instead of contually pressing the power button the additional functions should be the second thing to happen after the main functions.

Hilariously expensive, but very accurate, fast reading and brilliantly small and fit on the drip tray of my Sage The Bambini Plus nicely. This was a significant consideration for me as I needed something thats fits on the Bambinos frankly too small drip tray.There are more functions on this scale than I need and they have to be scrolled through to get to them, you can't just pick the one you want, but you can also disable the ones that aren't used so in my case, I disable all but two of them so its easy to switch back and forth.Truthfully, the brewista scales basically would have been just fine, but the looks, performance and size of these made them worth the extra cost.Also, the portafilter for the bambino fits on the scale without needing the accessory that acaia sell, so check forst if you were thinking about that.

Like the iPhone, this product oozes quality. Clear display, different operating options and waterproof finish. Simple instructions finish off the user experience. I'd rather pay less but after working through 3 cheap scales it's time to move on and get what you pay for. Being Chinese made ensures a quality build.

This product is as advertised...it is a very accurate scale with a small footprint. Depending on your needs and use, it may be more product than you can use. A lot of functionality and works brilliantly, but if you are just weighing for espresso..this is overkill 😊..but fun😎

Every time i buy beans from HasBean or JamesGourmet Coffee - I leave them about 5 days before use (as they're roast to order and still oxidising) these scales allow me to verify or recallobrate my espresso machine everytime with minimal effort.As the great Gino would say, "minimal effort maximum satisfaction"
