This just works - does exactly what it says it does
After a few different 'Bootable' OSX USB's and DVD's that didn't work, this does exactly what it says it will. After installing a new SSD on a 2010 Macbook where the OSX was irrecoverable this just installs Mountain Lion 10.8 without any issues whatsoever. Though I read the instructions that came with it (that didn't match up with what I was seeing) I simply inserted the USB and powered up with the Option/alt key depressed. Within seconds the yellow USB icon appears, click on it and follow the onscreen prompts. The SSD will need to have been formatted before you do this, but thats easily done from Disk Utility.. power up holding Command/R and erase disk to format.Once you have 10.8 installed you can then go through the upgrade path to the maximum your machine spec will allow, in my case this is Catalina. Many thanks to this supplier, great job

DIdn't work
Claims to be a bootable USB, but isn't. I bought this to bring a 15" 2008 Macbook Pro back to life after adding a new hard drive. Inserted into the USB port, booted to the disk selection screen, selected the USB drive and I got the folder icon with a question mark. So it couldn't read the drive OR the contents were corrupt. Either way it was useless so now I have an expensive USB stick. I'm glad others had a better experience than me with this.In the end I made my own bootable USB key with OS X Mountain Lion which worked - just google the instructions.

I’d ike to apologise to this company for the previous mistake I made of writing a negative feedback report because it showed no data when I plugged it into my spare notebook...?Which was wrong!Foot out of mouth now as I just went for it in desperation and tried it in my aging Mac & Lo and behold! It did just what the description said it would...10/10!

Saved myself a trip to Apple store. Such a good buy!
My late 2009 MacBook Air would only work in internet recovery mode and was unable to download the Mac OS mountain lion. I’d always get a notification saying “unable to download at this time, please try again later”.I saw this screen for 3 months, I constantly tried to fix it myself and contacted Apple support a couple times for help. Nothing online helped and Apple support told me to take it to an Apple store.I bought this as a last resort before I took it to an Apple store and there I have it, 10 minutes later, a perfectly working MacBook Air running on mountain lion! The instructions were so easy and I couldn’t recommend this item enough if you are having a similar problem.Saved myself about £300 😃!

Worked great!!
Straight forward instructions. Very easy to follow. Just an advice! Upon clicking the bootable USB disc on start up and the usb did not load, just click the Apple Logo then startup disk. Choose the USB and restart, and installation starts! I’m really pleased with this purchase!! My old Macbook pro (Mid 2009 13”) is now working like brand new.

Great!! But over priced
Works well, i done a fresh install with this as i had just put a new hard drive in my mac, and it worked like a charm, the only thing is that for an old Operating system the price could have been a little bit cheaper, having said that it' helped me out. Would recommend.

From 10.6.8 to 10.8.5
I put the usb stick in turned it on & pressed alt & hey presto it loaded. It took 30 minutes & the machine re started & all looked well.Got the new e mail pages & safari. The reason for buying a usb stick is my broadband is running at 1.4mbps so down loading from a web site is a no no.

Works, loaded easily. Can
Loaded onto old MacBook, which can't be updated to latest OS! Built in obsolescence. Used for short while it worked. Then put Linux Mint on the MacBook . Much better and can be updated, it's also free.
