Rage of Bahamut [DVD]

A very well made and good quality series which is only held back by the fact I think Rage of Bahamut deserved to have had the storyline spaced out over a second series. This would have allowed viewers more time to get to know the backstory of the main three protagonists. I felt that it was rushed and compacted in order to fit into the one series but even with that being a niggle for me I feel this is a must see

Excellent series. Well drawn and a little bit of a change from the usual anime. I got this because I started watching the second one and was enjoying that. But I stopped watching it to catch up with this one and I am glad I did. A lot of little comments and references in the second series made sense. It made the second series even more enjoyable.

Was a good package but was a bit disappointed that the booklet was black and white pictures of characters in animation sequences only.

Rage of Bahamut Genesis is a show that I didn’t realize I needed until I’d watched it. For being only a 12 episode series this show packs a great punch and really plays to the strengths of a good old fashioned tale of adventure.The Set itself contains the series across 2 disks each in individual slim line cases alongside a fairly large artbook depicting various cell style drawings from each of the 12 episodes (buyers be aware however if purchasing this collection before watching the series as the artbook contains several spoilers so not a wise choice to look through before watching) This is all housed inside a hardback box, something of which I really enjoy with collectors sets as it not only protects your purchase better but often gives a nice space for larger pieces of artwork to be put on display.The Series itself tells the story of a group of unlikely heroes, who find themselves caught in the middle of an epic clash between gods and demons after the world ending monster Bahamut, who thousand’s of years ago was sealed away, is now on the verge of being freed once more.The show gives of an excellent fantasy vibe and for those looking for something that isn’t just your average run of the mill action flick you’ll definitely be in for a real treat. The world lore feels very established and I found myself easily being sucked in and following along on the journey with the main characters.The visuals are extremely high quality throughout with some very well executed CGI mixed in every now and then to make for a quality watching experience. The music also lends itself well to the series with a nice mix of dark and sinister songs, heavenly choirs and even some large orchestral pieces during the grander moments of the show which all really help to convey the fantasy setting.Overall Rage of Bahamut is a brilliant watch and I would easily recommend to anyone looking for a good dose of adventure or even those who just like the idea of a medieval fantasy setting. Plenty in here for even the hardened fans to enjoy and I would definitely recommend a watch of this if possible.
