I purchased these 3 years ago, I made sure all worked fine then. I didn't need them until now, during Houston's 2021 Winter Freeze, where over a million Houstonians have lost power.These really light a room up pretty well. However I noticed two started smoking. I was really disappointed after telling all my neighbors how amazing these were.I took the batteries out the two that were smoking and put them back in (desperate times), I observed them and there was no smoke. So I continued to use them.I am not sure why they started to smoke. I did not put the batteries in the ones that were smoking myself, I am not sure if his hands were wet, I have no idea. I still am ordering another set because they really work well.I do hope the makers of these lights would invest more time and money into making these exceptional. It would be worth the price.

I purchased these because we live in a rural area and our electricity can go out with high winds, suicidual squirrels, falling tree limbs, and hurricanes. Very pleased with the brightness, easy instillation,and price, individual light switches are 5$ apiece here. Be aware that they use 4 AAA batteries each switch, mine didn’t come with batteries but my friends did so I guess sometimes you do , sometimes you don’t type of thing. Also these are super bright so install them above eye level unless you like being blinded.

I have them all over the house, plus I take one on trips just in case there is a problem that pops up. They will be especially useful to us here in FL if we experience a problem during hurricane season and lose power. They are very bright. Would make a nice gift!

I bought these to have for the next power outage. These things are SUPER BRIGHT and light up a pretty good amount of space. You don't have to worry about carrying around a flashlight. I have one for each room. 4 for ?10.00 is a dang good value. I have ordered more for friends and family.

These are wonderful! I wish I had known about them years ago. I first got these to put in a livestock shed that was without electricity, but I live in an area with frequent power failures, and these are great in my two windowless bathrooms, so we don't have to pack flashlights around while deciding whether to turn the generator on.

Lights are ok, one of them I already had to change batteries on basically the very next day because it was very dim. Battery change didn’t help, it’s still not as bright as the others. Another came with a huge crack all the way across the light. I emailed the seller about a replacement and got no response. I initiated a return but I didn’t get them all packed up and shipped out in time and now my window is closed. Oh well, I guess I’m stuck with 2 good lights and 2 defective ones!

Consider these as consumables … fortunate they are not $$$ . Solder joints connecting the switch assembly to the board peel off over time (Delaminate) causing open circuit . Until they fail , they are very bright and the magnets make placing them convinent.

Only 1 our of four would work after installing batteries. Had to fix their (+) positive terminals on the non-working ones, as it sits too flat to make contact with the battery. Bending it outward helps make better contact and then all is well.
