This axe is a beauty! The design is engraved into the carbon steel axe head and not etched so it isn't going to fade. It's obvious that the axe head is carbon steel, weighty and solidly attached with round shims in the end of the handle. The axe comes with sharpened! The handle is solid hardwood and nicely wrapped with leather. It's a two hander but if you use your dominant hand on the lower grip, the axe can be handled comfortably. The manufacturer deserves praise for this one. This is the real deal!

Product has great feel and overall design, but it arrived pitted and scarred on the blade from the maker. as well as it has lots of scuff marks from being unprotected in the shipping box. Inlay material is quite damaged. I am quite disappointed since this is a gift to my son as an anchor and center piece for his Viking wall art. Sadly it did not arrive on schedule it was late due to shipping.

I am very satisfied with the look and feel of the axe. It came packaged very well with the blade covers already on. It comes very oil so you can clean off excess oil prior to use. I am excited to debut my newest weapon for my Vikingr attire at my local ren faire. This will make a great addition to my arsenal of Viking weaponry.
