A little saddle sore but very happy with my spine
Some details about me because I think sex/size/age is important in regard to chairs like this. I am a 40+ year old man and I am 2 years into my journey on this saddle stool. I am 5ft 8” average build. I bought it on Amazon because I always believed the hype in regard to the expensive Australian saddle seats where they suggest in the web site fluff that a saddle makes your back fall into a more natural curve and our bodies respond well to it. I spend a lot of time at my desk and I bought the lower of the two models. This looked like a good alternative to the expensive “medical” type models of these chairs you can buy and I have a neck and back issue that was not responding well to long period of sitting in a traditional office chair.Initially I found it made me a little high up against my normal working desk height. Its OK for keyboard use but I was painting and doing arts/crafts, so felt like it would have been perfect if it went about 2-4cm’s lower than offered in the shorter model. However overall after many hours on it I do feel the benefit of better back useTo be fair I do still get chaffed on the inner thigh and cheeks a bit when using it for a prolonged period, however I know myself that this is because 3 hours at a desk is not healthy! So for between 30mins to an hour it is perfect and if you take proper breaks it really does feel comfortable on the spine and I think it has helped me by forcing an improved posture while I work. I can spend a day using it with semi-regular breaks and after about 2 Months I forgot I was using a saddle and it was just my office chair. You do have to preserver though and at first it can feel pretty harsh on the legs and behind when you first start – I would suggest stay with it because the benefits for my neck and back longer term have been good and it also makes me take regular breaks rather than slumping and sitting forever at the keyboard. In regard to product build – it is like new after 2 years usage. So no issue with quality of the materials and the wheels roll very smoothly, enabling me to spin around and shift between desk and storage in the study. Its more fun moving around on it than a normal office chair with wheels. The tilt works for adjustment and I think the only thing I would prefer is a lower setting, if I could make it go another 2-4cms lower it would have been perfect.

Top quality saddle stool
I've been suffering with lower back pain off and on for about 12 years. Recently I've been spending more time at my desk and my back has been getting worse so decided the best course of action was to replace my chair. Searching the internet for chairs to reduce lower back pain basically only threw up saddle stools as these position you in a semi-standing position to reduce the pressure on the lower back area. I did try another saddle stool that seems popular on amazon but found because you couldn't adjust the tilt I was slumping and also the front part of the seat was far too wide which forces your legs apart. I'm 6'2" so this must have been crazy for shorter folk. Anyway, that one was returned and this Premium Saddle Stool was purchased and what a great choice this has been. I decided to go for the taller of the two models. What you want to be aiming for with a saddle seat is that your thighs should be at around a 45 degree angle sloping downwards then your pelvis is tilted forward, in turn giving your spine a better shape. In order to have your legs at this angle, you need to sit quite high so you will likely have to increase your desk height. Using a saddle seat at the same height as your regular chair is going to be a waste of time, you need to be higher to be in the right position. The stool itself is robustly made and shouts quality from every point. Starting at the bottom, the casters roll freely, smoothly and quietly... the gas lift post is solid, well finished and actually has a tiny bit of bounce if you land on it.The seat is mounted on a rock solid bracket with positive adjustment made by two levers. The front one adjusts the height if you lift it. The rear lever adjusts the tilt and this one is adjusted by pressing the lever down. The seat itself is firm but comfortable. Be aware though that you will need a couple of days to become accustomed to the seat - its like riding a bike.Although the seat is vinyl for easy care and wear, it does look like leather so you have the best of both worlds.I've had the seat for about a week and although my back is still not right, I know when it settles down this stool will at least have me in the most favourable position for my back in future.Well recommended. As an aside, I contacted the seller directly and enquired about a backrest for the seat as there are mounting holes on the seat bracket that suggested a backrest was an option. This was supplied by the seller along with an optional footring for a good price. I've shown a photo of the standard chair and also with the additional backrest and footring available from the seller.Good service all round. 👏🏻

This works for me in the kitchen. I have arthritic hips and get pain if standing much. I use this at the high setting with a slight tilt, and I can wheel myself around while cooking. Our kitchen cabinets have recessed plinths which makes it easier as the wheels can tuck under. Also floor needs to be smooth. I have a few tiles not quite level which is a bit of a nuisance but can manage well until it gets fixed! This has made a very big difference- I can spend a couple of hours cooking without getting tired and in pain. I also lower it to sit at the kitchen table. It’s not a relaxed (lazy) sit but is good for posture and I’m fine sitting like this for an hour or more at a time. I just start to slump after a while even though I’m comfortable. Maybe if my core was strong this would not happen

excellent quality saddle seat from a great supplier
Ordered this item to replace a faulty office chair. I'm up and down all the time in my job so I thought a stool would be a good solution. A friend also recommended saddle seats to aid core strength. I ordered this item which was much more costly than similar looking alternatives. I ordered the black but took a blue one due to stock availability. Used for a couple of weeks now. It's very very well made. The saddle is generous and comfortable. The lower height is quite high compared to a chair but height at max is high enough to work at one of our test benches which was an added bonus. Downsides are I was a bit saddle sore in the first week. It may not be ideal if you wear a skirt. I have score 5 despite colour change as the vendor was super helpful and offered the black unit on a 2 week lead time. Overall a great item and perfect for my application
