Nice idea let down by a terrible lid
So, first the good points. I ordered this teapot to use while travelling, and it's as compact and robust as you'd hope. It's been on several international trips with me and doesn't yet have a dent. It's not a large pot, but it does about two cups (obvs depending on the size of your cup) -- the stated 500ml capacity is honest. It comes with a filter/strainer, which at least for my loose-leaf teas does a decent job of keeping the leaves from slipping through. (Again this may depend on your tea. I used the filter mostly for green and herbal teas; I can't say how well it'd work for very fine/dusty black teas.) The filter is capacious and has a handy looped handle that lets you remove it without difficulty after steeping. You can also take it out entirely and use the pot for teabags, of course. The teapot is made of metal so, naturally, it gets very hot when full of hot water. The handle is also metal but hollow (with air not hot water inside), and the result is that unlike the rest of the pot it doesn't get hot, so there's no problem picking it up to pour. There is also a little knob on top of the lid that's hollow, but this isn't as helpful as it sounds (more on this shortly). The pouring action is okay but not great: more often than not, I'd end up with some hot tea dribbling down the side. (I think this is because the spout is short and points upward, so that the minimum angle to pour is quite close to the angle at which tea will escape the lid when full.) This is a minor annoyance, but far from a deal-breaker in a portable teapot. (Probably the solution is just not to fill it quite as full...)But the main problem, and the reason why I gave it two stars and why I've ordered a different teapot to replace this one, is the lid. It's not attached to the pot, and to keep it in place while brewing it's held in place by little metal clips on the inside lip of the lid. These pop into place when you push the lid onto the pot and hold it securely in place. From one point of view this is good: the lid is not going to come free by accident and let the scalding tea slosh out. But the problem is that removing the lid when the tea is done requires quite a bit of force, and there is basically nowhere to apply that force. Remember: the pot is metal and full of scaling liquid. You can't put your hand on the pot itself as a brace, to hold it down while you tug the lid up, because you'll burn it. You can't use the handle because it's off to one side (if you push down there and tug up on the lid, the pot will tip). The little knob on the lid is not itself hot to the touch but it's right next to the very hot lid so it's hard to get a grip without burning the tips of your fingers. In the end, the only way I could take the lid off when the pot was full was to get a tea towel, pop that over everything, and tug at it awkwardly through the towel. I really didn't like this, and am going to replace the pot with one that has a built-in lid on a hinge. (Disclaimer: I like to remove the tea when it's done steeping, then drink the tea one cup at a time. If you use the whole pot right away, or if you don't care about over-steeping, you could probably just leave the tea in there and then remove the lid and tea without trouble when the whole thing has cooled down.)

It works like a teapot
After breaking my glass teapot by pushing it from the worktop for some reason, I went looking for a new one. Like everything, from a toothbrush to a decent tooth extractor, you have to wade through seemingly endless products. I ignored teapots with built-in mp4 players, bluetooth capability etc. and narrowed choices to a long list of about 100. I narrowed this further by eschewing glass, pewter and ceramic materials which left a choice between cast iron and stainless steel. I found one cast iron product which had an infuser but its selling points were that it had a capacity of ten cups, and it had an engraving of an ox based on a seventeenth century Japanese print. Anyway, approaching a state of panic and disarray I bought this one. It works. It is a good size for one person. It is stainless so does not get stained, at least by not anything I have used it for. It is well made and aesthetically neutral, a sort of magnolia of teapots. Two negatives. The infuser is less finely meshed than I would like: although it is good with tea tea, it is a bit iffy in dealing with some of the herbal brews I am want to make (these are not, properly speaking, teas but are infusions or tisanes) and cleaning the infuser can take some time (on average, about seven seconds as opposed to three for bog standard tea, but twiggy single herbs or blends may require as long as a minute because bits of them get wedged in the mesh). Secondly, the design of the teapot incorporates a big lip at the top. This means that when you are washing it, rather than inverting the teapot upon the drainer, one must remove any lingering fluid by expelling it via the spout which takes extra time from your day (at a rough guess I'd say three seconds on average). With these relatively minor qualifications in mind, I would recommend this teapot to anybody looking for a small teapot.

Infuser mesh not fine enough
A basic teapot that does not drip but the infuser mesh is not fine enough so if you do not want bits in your tea you have to use a tea strainer. The metal is thin and the tea pot looks and feels rather cheap. The lid is a very tight fit and difficult to remove without some force. After a few uses the knob on top of the lid came off but it can be screwed back on. Overall it could be ok if you want a reasonable priced teapot and use teabags but personally I would spend a little more and get something of better quality.

essential for tea drinkers
I've used mine daily since purchase. The coating on the lid knob is starting to peel but all the rest is still in great condition after almost 2 years of using it probably 2-3x a day. It's a great size for one mug full of brewed tea. The only negative I would say is that due to the sizing, it's difficult to get your hand in to clean the interior of the pot but that's easily solved with the appropriate brush. The lid fits nice and snug. No drip from the spout. The handle does not get hot. The liquid keeps warm inside until tea has steeped sufficiently. The teapot does lift the mundane making of a cup of tea. I wouldn't hesitate to buy again if mine broke but that doesn't seem likely to be imminent given the sturdy design.

Great little tea pot.
When I opened the box I was rather dissapointed with the size of this tea pot however don't be fooled it easily holds enough for a mug of tea and a good top up and on reflection as I am the only one in the house that drinks tea it is ideal for one, the infuser works well, just leave a little bit longer to infuse if you like strong tea like me.
