Following the success of Linux Basics for Hackers, OccupytheWeb does what he did for Linux to Networks. Networks of all types, including TCP/IP, Bluetooth Networks, Car Networks, W-iFi Networks, Radio Frequency Networks, SCADA/ICS Networks, and more. In his inimitable style, Master OTW makes the seemingly complex, simple. This book is designed for beginner to intermediate cybersecurity professionals. It begins with the basics of networks and networking, examines network analysis with Wireshark and tcpdump, offers one of the most complete and in-depth analyses of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth networks, then progresses through the various protocols such as DNS, ARP, SMTP, and others. The reader will be led through the building of those applications in Linux, such as an EXIM server for email or a BIND server for DNS. Then OTW leads the reader through the major vulnerabilities of that protocol/application. In the final chapters, OTW leads the reader through some of the networks on the leading-edge of cybersecurity, such as Car, Radio, and Industrial networks. There has never been book quite like this one!

Reliably good author and teacher. Must have book!
As is with ALL of OTC's books, this one comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Well thought out, well written, keeps your interest and not written like a boring manual. OTC has a great way of getting his points across without lulling you into a state of comatose the way other writers seem to be highly skilled and efficient at. You're given poignant facts along with a tiny bit of theory (enough to keep you wanting more) and the information is very valuable! It's above a starter level for sure but also not so mundane you don't want to keep learning. Your absorbing facts and references you WILL need in the future and with references you can always go back to whenever needed at your fingertips. If you're heading into Cybersecurity this is a requirement to have!

One of the Best Cybersecurity Books on Amazon!
Master OTW has done it again! This is a must have book that everyone in cybersecurity should have in their library. The only question I have is, why did it take so long for someone to write this book?OTW walks the beginner through network basics and network analysis but rapidly progresses to the various protocols such as DNS, ARP, SMTP, SMB and their vulnerabilities. He also walks the reader through building instances of those protocols in Linux such as a exim4 SMTP server or a BIND server. Finally, he explains the intricacies of such important but little understand networks such as SCADA/ICS, Radio Frequency, and Automobile Networks. The chapters on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi hacking are worth the price of the book alone. This book is probably the best coverage of those two wireless technologies on the market today.Well worth the money.

OUTSTANDING.
Computer/IT topics do not come easily to me. This book is so carefully and thoughtfully written that even my crayon-eating pea brain can grasp the material being presented. I wish I had found it sooner. I cannot overstate the joy of finally understanding the concepts presented, which have always sounded like word salad to me prior to this. Core concepts are presented with the minimum information a beginner needs to know, thus facilitating learning without excessive frustration or confusion. This book is a must for ever newb.

Great intro book to networking and hacking

Good start for network folks
This is about computer networks and those working with them. What I liked was that the author made things like the seven layer OSI model interesting by framing it for people wanting to hack things. It just made it more fun while going over the same info that Comptia teaches. Most of it is a bit light, and you will probably want to pick up supplemental works on how to use things like Wireshark. But if you want to learn how to be a network engineer in a fun way, this would be the book you should start with.
