Good starter book to get into basic statistics
Great book to starting learning statistics. I'd say that in terms of price-to-earnings ratio this book was the best purchase on the way to learn applied econometrics (nope, of course econometrics is not covered here).I got this book used from Amazon for about $9 and everything about statistics is practically same as in the newer editions - the basics things, like describing data, probabilities, hypothesis testing, have not changed much during the last 50 years, why they would for last 5 years? The book (any version) includes very simple step-by-step instructions how to do every thing the book is about, but this older edition additionally covers StatPlus (not much known but really easy to use app from analyst soft) - it is much better than the Excel Analysis toolpak and is available for free (they don't require you now to have a code from the book - search google for "StatPlus:mac" or search in the Appstore).

Harder to follow, not written as well as most for dummies books
This book does not read as well as the one for macro vba. He jumps around a lot, and even references the wrong figures at times (well at least once). The step by step instructions are much better in macro vba. I thought it would be similar since they are both dummies books, but the difference could not be more stark.

Great book for beginners and novices!
I'm only half way through the book, but assuming the second half will continue like the first, this is a great book. Each topic/feature is described, comes with an example and step by step instructions on how to perform the function.

Good reference guide.
Great book for anyone who is struggling with Statistics. By no means do I understand Statistics better but it does explain things and it has allowed me to get through my Statistics class.

easy to read but lack online access to tables and data
This book is very easy to read, main drawback which is a major one it thatere is no access to download the table and data that is used in the examples, so its impossible to repeat the examples.

Excellent statistics book
From Karl Pearson's correlation F distributions, to ANOVA variance testing, to probability, to multiple linear regression, to Normal and T distribution testing, to Chi Square testing and many more Excel functions, backed by theory and equations. This book has it all. I would really recommend this book for any seasoned statistician to those who are just learning statistics - this book has it all.The best statistics book, bar Statistical Analysis by Conrad Calberg.

Really useful and explanatory, but not for beginners
Fantastic! The book goes quite into detail and is certainly not written with beginners in mind, but if you know the basics and not have used Excel for a while, this book will do magic!
