I am delighted with this purchase. It's a very attractive, sturdy cot (the ebabygoods Airflow Cot Mattress 119x58cm DELUXE 10CM DEEP COMFORT is a perfect fit, but needs to be bought separately), representing very good value for money when compared to other more expensive alternatives available. It is a compact cot, i.e. there are larger cots available, but it's perfect for our purposes as grandparents; it's not used every day, it's not too big and obtrusive, and it will certainly provide a safe and comfortable environment for our grandchildren to sleep in for as long as they're in a cot. It's true that the assembly instructions are very basic, to say the least, and I take my hat off to the lady who said that she assembled it by herself, because it took my husband and I some time to do it together, but it is pretty straightforward. The dropside mechanism is simpler and more basic than you'd expect it to be - it fits straight into the slot cut in the frame, but it needs to be done before all the other screws are tightened up. And, yes, there were some marks on the paintwork when we'd finished, but they came off with some scouring powder on a damp cloth. All I have to do now is persuade my daughter that I don't want to swap it for her more expensive alternative, because she prefers mine!

Our 6 month old spends alot of time at my parents house, so we took the decision to buy a cot rather than a travel cot. This was amazing value! I was a little concerned that it would turn up and be very flimsey but it is solid! Has various settings for height, and the side comes down which is coated in a teeth protector. Have to say we have a far more expensive cot at home and had I seen this one first I wouldn't have bothered spending the money on the more expensive cot. The negative is the time it takes to put together, instructions are not great. I had it delivered directly to my parents home, and had regular phone calls from my mum saying she could hear alot of swearing coming from upstairs (Dad trying to put the cot together). However he managed it and our baby has had many a good nights sleep so far! I would get a breathable cot bumper as well as the bars are wide. Giving 4 out of 5 because of the difficulty putting it together.

We decided on this cot for our second child as its not too expensive and the reviews didn't look too daunting. The cot arrived within 48 hours of us purchasing it, perfectly packaged in a single flat pack box. Un opening the packaging, we found all of the pieces, screws and assembally instructions. My mrs (8 months gone), handed me the intructions, said "good luck" and left me too it. We had read a couple of reviews stating that putting this together was difficult for some, but I took my time and had it put together and ready to go within 40 minutes. The white painted coating is slightly on the thin side, but I only noticed it when putting the drop side down. ***ADVISORY*** The drop side partition goes on last, so leave all the screws very VERY loose to allow it to fit properly, then slowly tighten all the screws up. This way, it will fit perfectly. Once put together it looked perfect and felt very sturdy (so much so, that my other half decided to test its strength, by placing our 6 year old in it, much to my cringing). All in all, this is the best cot We've had and I would definately recommend it to first time parents or those like us, who are expanding thier family and are looking for a good quality, but no overly priced cot.

I had someone with experience fit the cot, good thing I did too as it was a little tricky. I’ve been using the cot for 2 months now with my newborn. Cot feels sturdy and safe. Only problem I have is that the drop side mechanism has failed and fallen apart, feel like I would’ve been better off without the dropside element however, we have dropped the side and left in this position and as such the fact it doesn’t go up and down isn’t an issue yet. I imagine it’ll be a problem when the little one is more mobile.

I have been reading reviews on this site before buying a cot for my baby girl.. and am very happy with the decision. The paint jobis bright and even unlike some unfortunate customers who have found it to be patchy. Cot is sturdy and is of good quality pine.Assembly was easy but could definitely have done with some instructions. The cylindrical locking nuts have to be placed in the holes the right way so that the screws can fit properly. The right way is not very intuitive and I have put one of them head in first. Prying it out turned out to be a task. But once this was done the rest of the process was quick.However for all you DIY gurus out there this would definitely be a breeze to fit.

great value for the money still using the cot after a few years old, would buy another one if needed

I'm very pleased with the purchase of this item which was delivered in excellent condition and in good time. I made sure my husband had a look at the previous reviews, particularly those talking about the difficulty fitting the drop side, so we managed to avoid scratching the cot whilst assembling it. The paint is indeed easy to chip/scratch so careful assembly required, but thanks to other reviews we knew this in advance and did not have any difficulty at all. Overall, for the price we paid, I have no complaints. It's absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to see my little one in it.

This is definitely a two person job to put together, as the dropside is a bit of a fiddle and when you need to lower the mattress it is easier with two for the same reason. Having said that, this cot is good value and sturdy; it has been used now for 14 months by a very active boy who loves to bounce. The dropside works well which is really useful if you have a bad back. The paintwork is still as good as new and I haven't been particularly gentle with it! So all in all well worth buying.
