UPDATED edition with correct integral and root symbols. Calculus Made Easy is considered a classic and elegant introduction to calculus, originally published in 1910 by Silvanus P. Thompson. Thompson was a professor of physics at the City and Guilds Technical College in Finsbury, England. He was elected to the Royal Society in 1891 and was known for his work as an electrical engineer and as an author. He also wrote a popular physics text, Elementary Lessons in Electricity and Magnetism , as well as biographies of Lord Kelvin and Michael Faraday. โ If your mathematical education is as sadly lacking as many unfortunates, buy this book. Stretch your abilities and apply yourself. I love the "dated" tone and language of the original. Don't buy an edition with Martin Gardner's name attached, it is a truly horrible bastardised american version. I really struggled with calculus at school but this very old book actually made sense to me. Study with this book is best book of self learning. No need of help of any teacher for basic calculus. Lovely book of calculus. Explained concepts in very lucid way.
