I was really disappointed by this
I've been an Agatha Christie fan all my life, and I still remember the version of this with David Suchet playing Poirot, which was phenomenal, so when I saw the trailer for this, ages ago, I was quite excited by the thought of seeing this remake, even though I remembered the storyline. After it had played at the cinema, I remember revisiting the trailer, and was shocked and disappointed to see such a low rating by reviewers. It was finally on sale on Amazon Prime the other day, so I decided to ignore the reviews, and watch it anyway.Despite the seller cast, and the beautiful costumes, I was really disappointed! "Poirot", played by Kenneth Branagh, just looked like Kenneth Branagh with a huge mustache, and a really poor Belgium accent. Poirot's charming and eccentric character was nowhere to be seen, except for the opening sequence, and even that was exaggerated! Johnny Depp just looked and sounded like Johnny Depp. The only actor that I enjoyed watching was Judy Dench, and the script was lacklustre and boring.I'm afraid, I cannot recommend.

Very disappointing I'm afraid
Downloaded very easily with good video quality. I had hoped to see a spectacular performance from such a quality cast. Their efforts were badly let down by the script writers attempts to improve on the original story. The sound mixing was very poor in that the dialogue was continually drowned out by the "background" music and some scenes were far too loud and others barely audible. Very disappointing I'm afraid.

Terrible
This has got to be the worst adaptation of this book I have ever seen. It was truly, truly terrible. Given the cast I was expecting something great but it fell very short of the mark, and to be honest the acting as awful. The whole performance was wooden and lacklustre. There are also these odd moments where they've almost tried to make it a comedy, but it just doesn't work. I also have to question if the director (who also cast himself a Poirot) has even read an Agatha Christie novel in his life. All in all the whole thing was just disappointing.

Waste of time and money
Oh dear, this is a terrible film, Good cast but what did they do to the story????I can understand each director trying to put their stamp on it, but the story why mess with a classic, and who ever thought it a good idea to have a gun fight as part of it and old HP getting shot in the arm (whoops) not fatal of course. This is Agatha Christie guys.Luckly I only rented it SD to get the cheapest version, on the tech side the picture and sound quality of the stream was very good#My advise is save your money for the albert finley version or my personal favourite the David Suchet version.

The DEFINITIVE version
I really like Kenneth Branagh but his version of the story and the character is PANTS! Albert Finney is fabulous as HP and there are a host of fantastic actors who ALL get a chance to shine unlike in the KB version which was a travesty. Even the scenery and the overall setting of the film was better in the AF film. Stylish, very well acted, well written, true to the source and the characters: buy this version...now!

Absolutely great!
Have no idea what the critics were talking about, this was a good, fun take on Agatha Christie’s work, much better than the good old Peter Ustinov films, and certainly on a par with David Suchet. Branagh brings some good, tongue in cheek humour to this production and proves what a great actor and director he is, let there be more.

KUDOS Kenneth Branagh ... An unexpected thought provoking film. Loved it! 10/10
I have seen the previous versions of Murder On The Orient Express but I liked the look of this, in particular. Lots of great actors for a start and I wasn't disappointed. Kenneth Branagh was excellent as Poirot, I wasn't sure he would be able to carry it off but my oh my, he certainly did. He exceeded my expectations on so many levels, his portrayal of Poirot is the best I've seen. This is the perfect film to settle down with on a rainy afternoon/evening. I Absolutely Loved everything about it! KUDOS Kenneth Branagh for a Brilliant Poirot and an Exceptional film! 10/10 Perfecto (from a true Agatha Christie/Poirot fan)

Seriously enjoyable and riveting, even if you already know 'whodunnit'.
Having watched the 1974 version starring Albert Finney, many times, I was very much looking forward to how this remake would stand up to it. I was not disappointed. It was quite a lavish spectacle, aided by magical CGI effects, unavailable in the 1970's. The Orient Express, inside and out looked spectacular. Very enjoyable. And an added bonus these days even with certificate 12 films: no swearing! So I could watch it with my elderly mother and 11yr old son. Applause to Kenny Branagh.
